The first week of classes at EU was always a whirlwind of activity. Students hurried between buildings, professors handed out syllabi, and the campus buzzed with a mix of excitement and anxiety. For Arthur, it was a balancing act between basketball practices, studying, and spending time with Aiah.

One crisp morning, Arthur found himself running late for his early morning economics class. He jogged across the quad, the chill air nipping at his face, and slid into the lecture hall just as the professor was about to start. He spotted Milo and Dylan in their usual seats at the back and made his way over.

"Nice of you to join us, captain," Milo whispered, grinning.

"Yeah, wouldn't want to miss all the fun," Arthur replied, rolling his eyes as he settled into his seat.

As the lecture progressed, Arthur's mind wandered. Despite his best efforts to focus, thoughts of basketball strategies and the lingering tension with Madison kept creeping in. He could sense her watching him, even when they weren't in the same room. It was unsettling, but he tried to brush it off.

After class, Arthur met up with Aiah for a study session in the library. They found their usual spot in a quiet corner and spread out their books. Aiah was diligently taking notes while Arthur struggled to keep his mind on their assignment.

"Earth to Arthur," Aiah said, waving a hand in front of his face. "You seem distracted."

"Sorry," he replied, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. "Just a lot on my mind."

Aiah's eyes softened. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right?"

Arthur smiled, grateful for her understanding. "I know. Thanks, Aiah."

Meanwhile, across campus, Madison was plotting her next move. She had noticed Arthur's lack of interest and it intrigued her. Used to having everyone fall at her feet, she saw Arthur as a challenge. And Madison loved a good challenge.

"What's the plan, Maddie?" Alexa asked as they lounged on the grassy hill near the student center.

Madison smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, you'll see. He won't know what hit him."

Madelyn, sitting next to Alexa, raised an eyebrow. "Just be careful. Aiah's not someone to mess with."

Madison waved her off. "Please, she's too sweet for her own good. This is going to be fun."

That afternoon, Arthur headed to the campus coffee shop for a quick caffeine fix before practice. As he waited in line, he heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Fancy seeing you here, Stuart."

He turned to find Madison standing there, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Madison," he acknowledged coolly.

"Just Madison? No flirty comment or cheesy pickup line?" she teased, stepping closer.

Arthur's jaw tightened. "I don't play those games."

Madison's smile widened. "That's what makes you interesting."

Before Arthur could respond, Aiah walked in, her eyes narrowing when she saw Madison so close to him. She quickly made her way over, slipping her arm through Arthur's.

"Hey, babe. Ready for practice?" Aiah's voice was sweet, but there was an edge to it.

"Yeah, let's go," Arthur replied, grateful for the interruption.

As they walked out, Madison watched them with a smirk. This was going to be more fun than she had anticipated.

Later that day, Arthur headed to the basketball court for practice. The gym was alive with the sound of sneakers squeaking against the floor, the thump of the basketball, and the shouts of his teammates.
