Finally.
Good to be back home where no one knows me. It's a small town and everyone knows me, but they have no idea what I do when I leave town.
It's good to be in hiding at times. To just relax and enjoy the world as it passes by.
I walked into the kitchen of my large ranch house holding a cup of hot tea in my hands, sitting on the stool.
"Hello ms."
I smiled.
"Hello, Isabelle. How are you on this wonderful day?"
"Doing well, thank you. May I offer you anything?"
"No, thank you. I think I will head into town and go back to work."
She smiled kindly nodding her head as I set down my now finished tea. I hopped down from the stool as she walked away. I grabbed my coat off the hook and grabbed my keys. I closed the door and my boots clacked against the wooden steps as I descended down them. I walked across the dirt towards my barn, sliding open the huge doors taking in the scent.
I love the smell of a barn full of horses.
I walked over to my baby.
"Hey, Black Thorne. How's my good boy?" I cooed as he walked over to me nuzzling against my hand.
I turned and walked over to the tack room grabbing my favorite saddle and bridle. I set them down on the rack next to his stall and went over to open the door. I had him trained very well and he knew exactly what I meant. He walked out and stopped right in front of me. I smiled and threw the saddle blanket over his brown and partially white spotted back and threw the saddle over that buckling it into place. I attached the bridle to him with ease and climbed on. I slid my feet into the stirrups and rode my paint horse into town.
His hoofs clicked and clacked against the pavement as we crossed the road.
"Hey, Belle!" I heard Kyle call, waving as I passed by his hardware shop.
"Hey, Kyle!"
He smiled and walked into his shop. Everyone here knew everyone and we could spot a tourist from a mile away. I once was one when I first moved here. That was a tragic day that I wish to not ever speak of.
I walked Black Thorne to the post in front of the small café and hopped down tying him up and making sure he had some water before walking in.
"Belle! So good to have you back."
I smiled at Lexi. She was the owner of the small rustic cafe and she was one of my dear friends.
I grabbed the apron off the hook stepping right back into my job as if I hadn't been gone for over two months.
