Two weeks later......

"Nat, you really need to calm down." Ruby says to me.

I'm currently pacing in my room.

"How can I calm down, Rubes? It's been more than a week and there's still no word." I complain.

It's been almost two weeks.....two weeks!!!! And I still can't reach my boyfriend. Two days after I told him the news of my pregnancy, I haven't been able to reach him.

I'd text him but he wouldn't reply, I'd call him and it'd go straight to voicemail. For as long as I can remember, voicemails are not really Dylan's thing. It's been a while since I'd call him and it'd go straight to voicemail.....except the past few days.

Is he ignoring me now????

No, he's not....he can't do that to you...he'd never do that to you.

He loves you too much to do such to you.

Yeah.....he loves me a lot.....

I reassure myself in my mind.

"You're making yourself more anxious by pacing like this. You really need to calm your nerves a little." Ruby says.

"Do you think he's doing this on purpose?" I ask.

"Nat...."

"No, he can't possibly do this to me."

"Nat....."

"Was he kidnapped? Is he in any sort of trouble? Oh my God, is he okay?" I mutter, obvious anxiety in my tone.

"Natalie!!!!" Ruby yells, causing me to pause my pacing and turn to where she's sitting on my bed.

"What?" I question.

"Can you fucking give yourself a break and calm down? I hate to see you this way. We both know how you faint whenever you're very anxious. You need to stop this now." Ruby says.

Well, she's right. I do faint whenever I'm very anxious. I didn't know that being anxious could be so exhausting until the first day I had the fainting experience.

I let out a deep breath.

"Can you come over here and sit with me?" Ruby asks.

Reluctantly, I walk over to the bed and sit beside Ruby.

"Have you tried going to his apartment to check for him?" Ruby asks.

Oh....that I haven't done....

"No..." I reply.

"How about you go look for him there? You've gained nothing from calling and texting him. You should try something else. Go to his apartment and find him." Ruby says.

Not a bad idea at all......

"Yeah.....I should go to his apartment. I never even thought about that. Thanks, Rubes." I say.

"You're welcome, Nat." Ruby says.

"You don't think he's ignoring me on purpose, do you? You don't think he's ghosting me, right?" I ask rhetorically.

"Nat, that may not be the case....let's hope it's not the case. We really can't tell. Just go to him and figure this out, okay?"

"Okay...." I say.

-------------------------------

"Hello, Alex...." I say to the barechested guy who had just appeared to the door I had been knocking on.

I think I might've woken him up, judging from his messy brown hair, which is usually not too messy, and the sleepy eyes.

Alex is Dylan's apartment neighbor and friend. He's also my friend, not because he's my boyfriend's friend though. We go way back in history.
