Nick POV:

"What do you mean?" I asked my Brother.

Today was the first time in my life Nevin called me. I know we are not like normal brothers. When he left our home after our mother's death, I didn't follow him or comfort him or make him come back, I just let him walk away.

I know how horrible I am. But he didn't know I had done everything for his safety.

"Just tell me the truth Nick. Is that true you begged Loxley to spare your life after her sister's death?" He questioned me.

But I don't know who told him about it. As for, I know Jess stopped talking to him since our last talk, and he can't hear Loxley's thoughts, then who might be told him.

"Nick tell me." he shouted on the call.

"Who told you?" I asked.

Because I want to know, I know Loxley was not the one who told him.

"So, it's true?"

"Nevin tell me who told you that? Then I will tell you the truth" I said.

"No one told me, it just...... I hear in Hunter's mind," he says, lowly.

"Hunter?"

"Yes. Hunter. Now tell me the truth." He asks.

"What's he doing there?"

"That's not important. Just tell me Nick"

"OK. I will tell you, but can you calm down a minute?"

I heard him take a deep breath three times, then I continued.

"I don't know what exactly you hear, but it's true I begged her to spare my life. That happened five years ago when her sister died. She thought I was the one who killed her sister. That's when I begged her. Since she has no evidence against me, she let me go. I even promised her I would never meet her again in my life. That is why I kept telling you to stay away from her. But when Jess told me about you guys, I get that she still has a feeling for you." I took a breath after finishing saying it.

"But you guys broke up years ago, then why did she think you killed her sister?" he asked.

I don't know how to tell him?

If I told him, what would he think about me?

"Because..."

"Tell me Nick." He asks.

"Because I was the one Hensley met before that accident," I finally said.

Loxley POV:

"What do you mean?" Hunter asks.

"You know what am I asking?" I asked him as I sat next to him.

"Just because your boyfriend went outside to speak to someone doesn't mean I did something," he says.

"Hunt, we just made up, so don't make it complicated again. I saw that he saw you with wide eyes as he heard something he shouldn't and went out. Just tell me." I asked him calmly.

"I am just thinking about something in my mind." He mumbled under his breath.

"For the Fucking sake, you know he hears your thoughts. That is why I keep telling you to think about something else," I said as I rubbed my temples.

"At least tell me what you think about?" I asked him as I massaged my forehead.

I know he is thinking about something that makes Nevin stay away from me.

Because it was like Hunt's mission to make Nevin stay away from me.

"I just think about how his brother looked when he begged for life" he says calmly.

My eyes widened as I looked at him and thought, Why do I have the dumbest friend in this world?

"Why did you?" I asked.

I know he hates Nevin, but I don't expect him to do things like that.

"You know I don't like him. He is not in love with you, he is just using you for his power thing. I don't know why don't you see that?" he shouts at me.

I just got up from the couch and went to sit on the kitchen island stool and look at my hand in my lap.

This is how I end the fight between us and I stay away from him and sit silent. But it has to end today.

Our fight has to end today.

Even though what he said might be true.

My fight for my Magic has to end today.

So...

"Hunter" I called him as he came toward me.

"Get out" I said. I know I shouldn't.

I knew what I was going to do was a selfish thing.

"What?" he asks concerned.

"I said get out. Just get out of here. You know we all promised we would never interface in others' love life, but you kept interface in mine."

He just looked at me confused as he took my words in his head.

Without saying anything, he walked toward the front door.

Before he left, he turned and saw me. "I will inform others and cancel your birthday party. And one more thing, you know where to find me when you need me. Advance Happy Birthday lox" he said, he left as close the door behind him.

I know it hurts him, and it hurts me too.

As I looked at the closed front door, it was open and revealed the person I wanted the most.
