NEVIN'S POV:

"What do you mean she was married?" Jess's voice boomed in my ears as my eyes were still looking at my miracle speaking with her family on video call.

I thought she was lying when she said that her mother was the one who called her when she finished explaining about her past. But now I can clearly see that it was her family, because she had been whispering and yelled at someone on the other side, and she kept calling her mother, Madam Mom.

I don't know why but this shows that my miracle was not on good terms with her mother.

"Are you there?" Jess shouted at me through our phone call.

"I'm here."

"But who told you about this?" She asks.

"Loxley herself told me about it", I answered her as I looked down to see my miracle sitting on my couch as she was still talking with someone on video call.

"What did you tell her after she said it?" Jess asked.

"Nothing, I was confused and felt betrayed that she was divorced, and she never told me about that". I told Jess how I felt after learning something new about Loxley.

"One second" she told me, and I heard another muffled voice at her side.

'Nick, do you know that Loxley was married and divorced' she asked Nick at her side. But I didn't hear any reply from him nor did Jess talk for the next few seconds.

"Nevin", I heard the voice of my blood share.

"What?" I asked him annoyingly. I don't know why he suddenly had an interest in talking with me.

"Loxley was married eight years ago, and she broke off her marriage after three years of being together." He states what my miracle told me.

"It was more like an arranged love marriage. After their divorce, they never met each other once. Since it was a marriage between families, no one other than families knew about it."

"Then how do you know about it?" I asked him. Because I can guess that was the time he broke up with Hensley.

"Even after my break-up with Hensley, her family treats me as their own. Sometimes I work for them. If you come into the Huges family, you could never leave them on your own." He told me.

I nod my head at his information, forgetting that he can't see me.

"OK" I replied to him as I thought about what he said.

Does he tell me as a threat or am I the only one who feels like that?

"Is Lox with you now?" He asked as my brows frowned as I asked him, "Why?"

"Nothing much, if she is there. Just convey my birthday wishes to her from me" he said.

"What?" I broke when my mind sinked the word birthday wishes into me.

"What?" he asked back, as if he didn't understand.

"What do you mean birthday wishes? Is her birthday coming around?" I asked him as I looked away from where my miracle and started to think about what I should bring her as her gift.

"Don't tell me, you didn't know" his voice answered about what I didn't ask.

"Since I didn't spend my childhood with her like you did, I don't know when her birthday was". I made him remember I wouldn't know my miracle existed if Jess hadn't seen me that day.

"Jesus Christ"

"Nevin, today is her birthday" he informed me.

My mind recalled my memories of today and states that I'm the dumbest person in this whole world.

'What?' I heard jess voice in the background and cut the call immediately.

I'm the dumbest boyfriend in this world for not knowing that today was my lover's birthday. She just did what she likes with me without showing any excitement about her own birthday.

LOXLEY'S POV:

"No, madam. I don't want to meet him", I told the woman who gave birth to me in this cruel world.

If she was just our mother and was the good wife of my biological father, my life wouldn't be cruel like now.

Even though I still talk with the woman who gave birth to me, my mind still replays the moment I told my magic about my past.

I should have told him before we started dating, but I didn't. Because I forget the fact that I was married when I was with my magic.

"A single dinner with him won't make you lose your time" she spat back.

"OK", I told her, but I had no plans to have dinner with him. I don't know why she still thinks we would be bonded with each other even after so many years.

"When are you coming back?" she asked the question she knows answer.

"After Phil took over everything" I'm so annoyed to reply to every question she had been asking me.

"We need you before that, Loxley. I didn't know why you couldn't understand that."

"You need me? For what? Being in the second line of the title", I said sarcastically.

"That is why you should come here. Then your father gets to know about your ability", she said the same things she told Hensley.

Rolling my eyes at her and cut the call before she said something to ruin my perfect birthday with my magic.
