"What is taking them so long?" Reiji checked his watch and tapped his foot, "We're going to be late for school!"

"I don't think they're going to come." Laito stated.

"Why not?" Reiji hissed.

"Ayato has a new treat that he doesn't want to share." Kanato replied, "From the looks of it, so does Shu, but we're not sure about Yui."

Subaru remained quiet throughout the entire time even though he knew exactly what Yui was up to. He wanted to see the look on Reiji's face when he finds out.

"Why wasn't I informed about this sooner?" Reiji adjusted his glasses, "Let's go."

"Aren't you going to miss school if you don't hurry?" Momo asked while playing with Ayato's red hair.

"Yeah." Ayato cuddled on Momo's lap.

"Then hurry up and get dressed!" Momo commanded, "Learn to be more responsible, will you?"

Ayato shook his head, "No."

Momo pushed him off of her and stood up to walk over to the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Ayato asked.

"I'm going to go and call my mom to warn her that I'm stuck at a friend's house doing a project." Momo answered.

"You're going to lie to your mom?" Ayato's tone had disbelief.

"Only because I'd be in trouble if I told her I'm at a guy's house -- Wait! Why not tell her the truth?" Momo exclaimed, "I could tell her that I found you and that I want to catch up on things with you. She knows how sad I was when you were gone, so she'll understand."

"Sounds good, let me show you where the phone is."

Hotaru could still hardly comprehend what was going on. There was a hot vampire who wanted her to stay with him for the rest of her life. She didn't even know his name --

"Hotaru, was it?" He asked.

"How do you know?"

"Your friend called out your name while you were unconscious." He explained.

"Oh ... Momo-chan." Hotaru began to worry about her dear friend's safety. It was highly likely that that guy was also a vampire, and unlike her, Momo didn't enjoy pain as far as she knew.

"It's nice." He said.

"What is?"

"Your name. It's means 'fireflies', right?" He yawned, "Who came up with it? Your mom or your dad?"

Hotaru blushed, "I never got your name."

"My name is Shu."

Hotaru was not sure what the name, 'Shu' meant. She was still trying to process what was going on, until she bumped into Shu's back.

"This is going to be your room." Shu pointed at a room with glossy, sky blue walls, fancy furniture, and a big bed with violet sheets.

"From now on you're going to be my main food source." Shu said.

"I-I want to go back to my home." Hotaru stuttered out, "I don't want to be here."

Shu sighed, "You're a real catch, you know that? You're the most interesting person I have met, yet just for the one thing you've done, your blood is even more delicious than Yui's and you're strikingly beautiful."

Hotaru blushed as his hand ran through her dark hair. No one has ever told her how beautiful she was. Momo and some other friends said she was cute, but her older sister, Hoshi, took the title of beautiful. Her dark orange eyes than started into his blue ones.

"That is why I must have you ... But I also want you to have the freedom I couldn't so you may return to your home during the say. Just assure me that you will return at night."

" ... Okay, I will."

She then sealed that promise with a kiss over the bite he made on her neck.

"Okay, thanks for giving me permission Mom. I promise to come back safe and sound. Good night and I love you." Momo turned phone off.

"Your mom sounds awesome." Ayato said thoughtfully, "I've always wanted to meet a mom who actually cares about her children."

"What?" Momo gasped.

"Heh, you see the reason that I disappeared when we were kids was because my mother didn't want me to be with you. She even went as far as to threaten me with your life." Ayato had a clear frown on his face.

Momo whispered his name and his cheeks lovingly. She got on her tippy-toes and planted a comforting kiss on his lips. Ayato smiled at her attempts to make him feel better. He didn't lie when he said that he did everything for Momo. The only reason he contributed in the murder of his mother was because she prevented him from being with Momo. Yeah, he also disliked the way she abused him, but while killing her all he could think about was Momo.

"I understand everything now, I'm so sorry that I judged you so soon and thank you for telling me this." Momo then asked, "But where's your mom now?"

"Dead."

Momo froze. She was unsure of what to say. Should she say how sorry she felt for him? No, it would sound like she pities him, and he doesn't seem fund of his mother. But it's not like she could congratulate him since the loss of a mother is still bad and it was not in her nature to do that.

"It's okay Momo, you don't have to say anything." Ayato lightly kissed her forehead, "Sorry for making things awkward for you."

Momo shook her head, "It's fine. Come on, maybe now you can tell me more about how've you been all this time. Let's go back upstairs."

"Alright, who was that girl by the way?"

"Hotaru!" Momo gasped, "I need to talk to her, where is she?"

Ayato pouted, "I'm just going to assume that she's your friend and I'm going to pretend that I actually care where she is."

"Ayato! You're being mean for no reason, again!" Momo scolded.

"Hmph, whatever. Do you have any other friends?"

"Huh? Oh yeah." Momo was confused by his random question, "Why do you ask?"

He shrugged, "Did you really try to forget about me?"

Momo shamefully looked away, "Yeah, but I never could ... No matter how much I tried."

That brought a smirk to Ayato's face, "Of course you can't, nobody can forget Yours Truly once they meet me!"

As much as Momo may not like to admit it, it was true.

Hotaru looked out of a window and into the night sky. She sighed and rubbed her aching neck. She could only wonder what has she gotten herself into? Turning around, she went back to bed, hoping that she could at least get some shut eye.
