Chapter 27

Chaeyoung's new friend ended up taking them to a subway and down an alley into the back of a hotel. The drunk group of friends took an elevator to the highest floor and stumbled through the halls. As Minghao had stated: a massive living room that lead to a balcony. The first group of people they spotted was circling around the couch sniffing rows, the second on the counter doing the same with the music playing getting louder as they headed into the cold.

The people around looked rich. Bottles set out were up for grabs and Nayeon and Keeho willingly picked one up for their group.

"This is insane" Nayeon said to Chaeyoung. "How the fuck did you meet this guy?"

The girl shook her head too captivated by the view. "I don't know, he wanted to hook up with me? Free weed, free alcohol!"

Yunjin sneaked between the two. "Now give me some of that"

Chaeyoung was so many hits and shots in, yet she felt too aware. She sat in one of the sinking couches with Minghao and Yunjin. The two watched him take a pouch out of his pocket filled with pills. He popped on in and forcefully swallowed.

"Yall want some?" He looked at them.

Yunjin looked at Chaeyoung with a lopsided smile and without words, they agreed.

On Sunday, Chaeyoung woke up feeling worse than she ever had in her life. She was next to Yunjin recognizing the room to be one of Nayeon's guest rooms. At first, her head pounded making the ceiling spin and then she felt her intestines beginning to twist. Chaeyoung was up and out of the room within seconds. Feeling distorted, she sprinted across the hall bringing her hand to her mouth. To her luck, she barely made it to the bowl where her knees landed on the rock floor.

She spent the morning on the living room couch where all her friends attempted to recover from the previous night. Nayeon who ordered bagels was the only one with an appetite to finish one. As for the rest, they struggled taking small bites preferring to sip on their coffees. Mina had texted her hours before she'd woken up asking to hang out. In response, Chaeyoung suggested coming over for dinner since her Mom had been urging to properly meet Mina.

The oldest was quick to express her nerves around the topic and Chaeyoung reassured her despite feeling the same. Shortly after, Yunjin got up to leave and her two friends followed behind holding their thin sweaters against the freezing air.

"So what are yall doing tonight?" Chaewon asked in the car.

Yunjin glanced back at Chaeyoung before responding. "Nothing. Down for whatever"

"I do have plans" she sunk into her seat. "Mina is coming over for dinner to meet my mom"

"Oh my god how do you feel about that?" Chaewon looked back.

The girl smiled. "Nervous. I texted my mom and she's thrilled. Last girl I had over was Tzuyu and that didn't end well"

"You cannot let that haunt you" Yunjin commented. "Plus Mina sounds... better. Don't stress about it"

Chaeyoung rolled her eyes. "Yeah, thanks. Can we stop by the Dispo? I'm gonna need some eddies"

At home, Chaeyoung cleaned her room and then assisted with the rest of the house. It seemed like everyone was preparing for Mina as she had to wait for her brothers to shower before doing so herself. In the kitchen, her mother had been busy preparing the meal for the night. It was a spicy pork casserole with all sorts of sides to accompany it. She got ready growing anxious as she struggled to pick the right outfit.

By the time Mina was walking up the driveway steps, her mother was finishing up a few things and Chaeyoung was tidying up. Once she received Mina's message, she was out of her room and ready for the knock on the door.
