The ladies were closing in and I frantically glanced around for anything that would help me to no avail.

As the creepy ladies raised their blades, I closed my eyes and waiting for the blow.

"Incantatio: Ignis Deorum!" a voice shouted.

I opened my eyes to see Evelyn Li at the staircase, with a hint of a glow in her brown eyes.

I looked at the knife-ladies, but they were gone. Vaporized; their knives being the only remains they left.

At this point, many would be shocked and ask over a billion questions.

But at this point, my day had been so weird I didn't even question it.

Magic is real, sure, I guess.

I don't know. Don't judge.

I grabbed two knives and tossed one to Evelyn.

Ok now the questions start.

"Wha-", I began to ask.

"No time, hurry," Evelyn said, going back up the staircase.

Annnnd the questions end.

I followed her up the staircase and we walked over to the nearest subway station, which was first avenue.

We took the train uptown and half a dozen stops later, we got off.

Evelyn strolled over to a building, looked back and said, "We need to go through this door and it'll transport us to a safe place. Got it?"

"I'm sorry, wha-" I started to ask but then stopped, because I knew she was going to cut me off

"Questions in the cabins" She said, walking through the door.

I knew better then to ask again and walked through the door behind her.

And, oh, what a sight to see.

Winged horses were roaming the skies, people were dueling with swords, others were shooting at targets with a bow and arrow, you get the gist.

I saw a sign reading, "Camp Half-Blood"

"This is Camp Half-Blood, the safe place for people like us," Evelyn said, turning around to face me.

What was "us"?

As if reading my mind, "Demigods, half mortal and half-god. Obviously one of your parents is a god, we just don't know who."

"So...you knew I was a demigod-thingie and you never told me?!" I asked, angry and irritated.

"I never knew but I had my suspicions." Evelyn said, avoiding my gaze.

"Let me guess, your "godly" parent is Hecate?" I asked (I had received a Geek Mythology book last Christmas.)

"Yes..." Evelyn said.

"It's quite odd that you have accepted the mythological world so quickly. Many of our campers are still in denial." Evelyn said, tilting her head confusedly.

"I mean, what else is there to explain? Flying horses, vaporized knife-ladies, teleporting doors..." I said, still trying to wrap my mind over all of it.

"You'll get used to it. You can stay in our cabin as of now, unless you want to stay in Cabin 11?" She asked.

"I think I'll stay in your cabin; it's nice to have a friendly face." I said.

She walked over to her cabin, Cabin 20.

The sun was setting and as you can tell, it had been a loooong day.

However, as much as I wanted my beauty sleep, I had to attend the campfire, where my godly parent would "claim" me.

Our cabin walked over to the campfire and I met with all the Hecate campers, Lou Ellen, Ty Rivers, Callie and Jack McGrath, and Ryan Olson. Callie and Jack were new campers as well, which reassured me; knowing that I wasn't alone as a new camper. We shared some conversations about our life beforehand and some fond memories we had.

The campfire was pretty boring; there were some creepy stories and whatnot but the interesting part was during a conversation with Callie and Jack, who were twins. We were talking about Elemental Magic or Incantation Magic, one of which a child of Hecate uses. No one got to choose, of course, but we were talking about which we might manifest.

But then everyone started to look at me.

I wondered if I did something wrong, like interrupting a story or something but I quickly realized that what they were looking at wasn't me but rather above me. I looked up and saw the sign of the two torches, the sign of Hecate. But then a sword and shield appeared next to it. Not an actual sword and shield but kind of like a hologram.

"Hail Jack Williams, the Heir of the Celestial and Son of Hecate, Goddess of Magic and the Crossroads." Evelyn Li proclaimed.

Every camper started kneeling, acknowledging me as a demigod and the Heir.
