Chapter 7

Grandmaster Boashan used her abilities to see Wei Ying past memories, both good and bad.

Wei Ying was overcome with emotion, finally confronting his past after all these years.

Boashan was moved to tears, feeling regret for not being able to protect her grandson when his parents passed away. She saw how Wei Ying's life had turned out and realized that she couldn't change the past, but she could make a difference now.

Lan Zhan approached them, concerned about Wei Ying's distress. He circled his back to comfort him, trying to soothe his pain.

Boashan looked at Lan Zhan with determination, wanting to see his memories as well. "A'Zhan, if you're willing, I need to see your memories too," she said.

Lan Zhan nodded, placing his hand in hers, and she held it tightly.

After experiencing Lan Zhan's memories, Wei Ying felt a sense of relief. Boashan opened her arms to both of them, and they embraced her, letting go of their past and their worries. In that moment, they found solace in each other's company, free from the burdens of their past.

She patted their backs, and they parted away.

"A'Ying, I need to check your core," she said. Wei Ying nodded, and she placed her palm on his dantian, just below his belly button. Her eyes closed as she concentrated, humming softly. Later, she smirked, causing Lan Zhan and Wei Ying to exchange curious glances, wondering why she was making such strange expressions.

She exhaled deeply, removing her palm from his stomach. "I see. So, you're special, full of wonders," she said, her face still grinning.

Both Lan Zhan and Wei Ying stared at her, intrigued by her enigmatic smile and words.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, noticing their stares.

"What do you mean I'm special, Grandma?" Wei Ying asked, confusion etched on his face.

"Time will tell, don't worry," she said with a grin. "So, you said the marriage will take place in 11 days?" she asked Lan Zhan, who nodded in response.

"I think we have enough time, though. I'd like to give you a gift, but first, I need to strengthen A'Ying's core, which will take at least 4 days with concoctions and all." Wei Ying made a face at the mention of medicine, "Ahhh... Grandma, can't we skip that part?"

"No," she said with a grin, "Wei Ying is smart and will do anything like a good boy," Lan Zhan added, squeezing Wei Ying's hand.

Wei Ying pouted and whined, "No, Lan Zhan, I'm not smart or a good boy!" Boashan chuckled, "Boy, you don't have a choice."

Lan Zhan whispered something in Wei Ying's ear, causing his face to turn bright red.

Grandmaster Boashan frowned and coughed, continuing, "After his core is strong enough, you both will meditate for 3 to 5 hours a day for another 3 days. Then, if you're lucky enough, after the marriage and bonding, you will ascend to immortality."

They looked at each other in surprise and happiness, hardly able to imagine themselves as immortals. "Enough about you two," she said, "tell me about the children. I saw who Sizhui is... why can't you adopt the other one? He's a good boy, and you already love him."

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying exchanged glances, and Lan Zhan said, "If Wei Ying wants, we can." Wei Ying beamed and kissed Lan Zhan's cheek, causing Boashan to fake a yawn and say, "Okay, we'll call it a day. You two should go rest. A'Ying, tomorrow at 10 sharp!" She left, and they returned to their room, excited and eager for the journey ahead.

Wei Ying yawned and snuggled closer to Lan Zhan's chest, inhaling the familiar Sandalwood scent that instantly relaxed him.

Lan Zhan wrapped his arms around him, holding him tight, and kissed his temple and forehead. Wei Ying smiled, "Lan Zhan, I love your scent, it calms my nerves." Lan Zhan replied, "I love your lotus flower and wine scent too.

" Wei Ying laughed lazily, "Do I really smell like that?" Lan Zhan affirmed, "Mn."

As they cuddled, Wei Ying asked, "Are you sure you want to adopt Jingyi?"

Lan Zhan replied, "Anything for your happiness, Wei Ying, and I love him too, just like I love Sizhui." Wei Ying yawned again and kissed Lan Zhan's cheek, "I love you, Lan Zhan."

Lan Zhan snuggled him closer, "I love you too, Wei Ying. Sleep, it's already late at night." With contented sighs, they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's embrace.

In the morning, they gathered around the dining table, exchanging warm greetings.

After breakfast, Wei Ning took Jingyi and Sizhui to spar and explore the mountain, hoping to uncover something remarkable.

Meanwhile, Boashan led Wei Ying to a secluded room, where a small table and two chairs awaited them. The cozy room featured a birth tub filled with colored water, warmed by a soothing talisman.

Suddenly, Boashan snapped her fingers, and a bowl of maroon concoction appeared.

She gestured for Wei Ying to drink, but he hesitated, wary of the strange liquid. Boashan's mischievous grin widened, "You know I can make you drink it without hesitation, right?"

Wei Ying's eyes grew wide with fear, and Lan Zhan stepped in, placing a comforting hand on his back. Boashan's expression softened as she approached Wei Ying, who steeled himself and downed the concoction in one gulp. He gagged at the taste, and Boashan scowled, while Lan Zhan soothed him, struggling to hide a smile at his distress.

She smacked his shoulder and said, "Good boy! Now, get into the birth tub and remove your outer robe. You'll need to soak for at least 30 minutes. If you're done then, meditate for 1 hour. After all that, you can do whatever you want before lunch." With a playful push, she left the room.

Lan Zhan removed Wei Ying's outer robe and swept him into his arms, despite Wei Ying's protests. "I have two legs, I can get in myself!" Lan Zhan chuckled, "I love carrying you like this, my Wei Ying."

He gently removed the inner top, leaving only Wei Ying's trousers, causing Wei Ying's face to flush with shyness.

Lan Zhan's gaze lingered, his heart racing with desire, and he began to chant cloud recesses rules to control his deepest longing.

Wei Ying's embarrassment was evident as he avoided eye contact, his face bright red. Lan Zhan composed himself and sat at the table, watching Wei Ying sink into the water, his eyes closed, lost in thought.

Lan Zhan smiled knowingly, his heart filled with warmth, his eyes occasionally flicking towards Wei Ying. He, too, closed his eyes and began to meditate, the silence between them filled with a deepening connection.

For four days, Wei Ying felt a profound transformation within himself. His core radiated strong energy, making him feel revitalized and healthier. He was overjoyed with this new change, wondering when he had last felt so alive. He credited it all to his grandmother's guidance.

Next, they began meditating with Lan Zhan, dedicating two hours in the morning and two hours at night, totaling four hours a day.

They immersed themselves in the cold water behind the mountains, seeking spiritual growth. After each session, Lan Zhan would warm Wei Ying up, as he couldn't do it himself, and Wei Ying's shivering body would find comfort in Lan Zhan's embrace, wrapped in a blanket.

As three days passed, they felt a subtle difference, but nothing extraordinary happened, and they didn't mind.

After eight days of preparation, they were ready to return to the Cloud Recesses, eager to face the next challenge.

Boashan promised to attend their wedding, bid them farewell, entrusting them to their journey, and they left, leaving her with her pupils.
