The mansion was peaceful, bathed in the warm glow of golden lights as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of pink and orange across the sky. It was supposed to be a tranquil Sunday evening… but it was anything but.
A loud, high-pitched cry shattered the calm, shaking the entire mansion. Every maid and bodyguard froze, eyes wide in terror. They knew that cry all too well—it could only belong to one person: Yn.
At just four years old, Yn was the princess of the house, and her brothers? Well, they were the chaotic forces of nature who kept her—and everyone else—on their toes.
Yn stormed out of her playroom in a pair of oversized blue fury pajamas, her pigtails bouncing with each angry stomp. Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were streaming tears, a little snot trailing down her nose. She looked like a tiny, furious hurricane.
She marched straight for Yoongi’s room, her little feet pattering loudly on the marble floor. Behind her, Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung glanced at each other with wide eyes.
“Oh no,” Jungkook mumbled, realizing what was happening. “We messed up.”
They all knew what had caused the cry. Earlier, the maknaes had thought it’d be hilarious to scare their little sister by wearing monster masks and sneaking up on her while she was playing with her building blocks. But, apparently, terrifying a 4-year-old with a mask bigger than her head was not the fun and games they’d imagined.
“Yoongi hyung’s going to kill us,” Jimin muttered, already backing away from the door.
Just as they were about to run, Yoongi, who had been on a business call, hung up sharply. “I’ll call you back,” he said, then rushed out into the hallway. As soon as he opened the door, Yn flung herself at him, sobbing into his legs like her life depended on it.
“My goodness, bun, what happened?” Yoongi asked, kneeling down to pick her up, his voice soft but with a hint of panic.
Yn hiccupped between sobs, holding onto him for dear life. “T-the boys! They put on monster masks and tried to eat me!!”
Yoongi’s eyes narrowed. He was usually the cool, composed one, but hearing his baby sister terrified? That was a different story. “Those little gremlins,” he muttered, gently rubbing her back. “Don’t worry, I’ll deal with them.”
Before he could even say more, the three guilty brothers peeked around the corner, their faces pale and filled with regret. Jungkook, who normally never backed down from anything, now looked like a deer caught in headlights.
“Hyung... we didn’t mean to scare her,” Jungkook stammered, his voice full of regret. “It was just a prank.”
“A prank?” Yoongi raised an eyebrow. “You think scaring her half to death is a prank?”
Taehyung chimed in, clearly trying to redeem himself. “We thought it’d be funny! Like, ‘look, it’s a monster!’” He put his hands up in a ridiculous monster pose, his face more goofy than scary.
Yn, still sniffling, lifted her head from Yoongi’s shoulder and pointed dramatically at the three of them. “They looked like the biggest monsters ever! I thought they were going to eat me! And they made weird noises!” she cried out, her tiny hands flailing.
Jimin, looking guilty, started doing his best impression of a monster by making exaggerated claw motions and growling like a cat with a sore throat. “Raaaawr! Look, it’s not scary, right?”
Yoongi's stern gaze never wavered, but his lips twitched. “You guys are unbelievable. You know better than to scare her.”
Jungkook sighed dramatically. “I’ll buy her candy... ice cream... anything to make it up to her.”
Yn looked up at him with big, tear-filled eyes. “Candy?” she asked cautiously.
Jungkook nodded eagerly. “Yep! A whole mountain of candy.”
Yoongi shook his head in exasperation. “You’re lucky she’s easy to bribe. But next time, I swear, I’ll make you wear those monster masks for the rest of your lives.”
With a final “I’m sorry, Yn,” from the brothers, the tension slowly lifted. Yoongi held his little sister tightly, rocking her back and forth. “There, there. No more monsters. Just your big, tough hyungs who will protect you.”
Yn sniffled one last time, her big eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Okay... no more monsters. But... no more pranks either!” She pointed at her brothers, making them all groan in unison.
Jungkook threw his hands up. “We’re never going to hear the end of this.”
Yoongi, smirking at the scene, hugged Yn tighter. “Good. Now, let’s get you some ice cream, little bun.”
The rest of the boys exchanged glances, then sighed in defeat. “Well, guess we’re all going to be buying ice cream now,” Taehyung muttered, already heading to the kitchen.
“Best. Day. Ever,” Jimin said sarcastically, following them, but secretly hoping Yoongi would forgive them. For now, at least.
