The Big Day

It was the big day—the day that Yn, the youngest and most cherished member of the mansion, was getting her first vaccination. For the usual calm and collected members of the family, this was not just a trip to the doctor; it was an event, a trial by fire, and an opportunity to showcase their overprotective tendencies.

Jin, the oldest of the group, had taken it upon himself to be the “leader” for the day, despite the fact that he could barely manage his own nerves. As soon as the news broke that the vaccination was happening, he immediately called a family meeting in the mansion’s luxurious living room. His staff—bodyguards, maids, and all—watched from the hallway, eager to see how this would play out.

“Alright, guys. This is serious,” Jin said, pacing back and forth, adjusting his designer suit like he was preparing for a press conference. “Yn is our baby sister. This is not something we take lightly.” He turned to his younger siblings with a serious expression. “We have to make sure she’s completely comfortable.”

Jungkook, who had already been mentally preparing himself for the worst, glanced down at Yn, who was blissfully unaware of the impending ordeal, playing with her little rattle. "She looks fine," he said, nervously bouncing her in his arms. "I don’t think she even knows what’s coming."

Jin wasn’t convinced. "That’s exactly why we need to keep an eye on her. We can’t let anything go wrong. Do we have the ice cream, the stuffed animals, the toys—everything?"

"Yes, Jin hyung," Namjoon replied, holding up a giant teddy bear that was nearly the size of Yn herself. "We’ve got it all covered."

Taehyung, who had been sitting on the couch with his feet kicked up, suddenly stood up. “Wait, wait. What if she’s not feeling it? What if she refuses to get vaccinated? Do we have a backup plan?”

“Backup plan?” Hoseok repeated, raising an eyebrow. “Taehyung, we’re going to the clinic. It’s not a hostage situation.”

“I don’t know, hyung,” Taehyung said dramatically, pacing the room now, much like Jin. “What if she refuses to go? We need a strategy.”

Yoongi, who had been leaning against the wall with his usual calm demeanor, smirked. “It’s not like she’s going to fight us off, Taehyung.”

Hoseok added with a sigh, “She’s six months old. She can barely even sit up on her own. You guys are acting like we’re taking her to a gladiator arena.”

But Jin wasn’t listening. “We need the whole team to be ready. I’m bringing the bodyguards, and the maids are coming too. We can’t afford any disruptions. Not today.”

“Wait—why are the maids coming?” Jungkook asked, confused. “It’s just a shot.”

Jin turned to him, eyes wide. “You never know! What if the doctor’s office doesn’t have the right toys? What if she’s uncomfortable?”

The chaos was already reaching ridiculous levels, but things truly spiraled when they got to the clinic. The bodyguards, who were usually calm and composed, were visibly tense as they stood guard outside, as if they were protecting the president rather than a baby getting vaccinated. The maids, who had been given a detailed list of Yn’s favorite distractions, followed them in, each holding one of her toys or comfort items.

Inside, the nurse greeted them with a warm smile, clearly used to this kind of madness. “Is it just a simple checkup?” she asked, glancing at the entourage of overly protective family members.

Jin cleared his throat dramatically. “No, it’s the vaccination. We’re all here for moral support. It’s a team effort.”

“Team effort?” The nurse blinked, clearly thrown off. “Okay… well, let’s get started. It’ll be quick.”

The room was filled with nervous energy as Jin took the lead, ushering the maids to the side and positioning the bodyguards in strategic locations, like they were guarding a top-secret mission. “We need eyes on her at all times,” Jin ordered.

Jungkook, still holding Yn, looked like he was about to pass out. “She’s just a baby… just a needle… it’ll be over in a second.”

But things immediately started to go sideways.

As the nurse prepared the syringe, Taehyung, ever the dramatic one, suddenly gasped loudly. “Wait—does she even know what’s happening? What if she thinks we’re punishing her?”

“Taehyung, she’s six months old!” Namjoon said, exasperated. “She doesn’t know what’s going on.”

But before anyone could say anything else, Jimin burst into the room with his usual energy. “Is she getting her shot? Oh my god, I’m so excited for her! I’m going to distract her with this!” He pulled out a rainbow-colored balloon animal.

“Oh no, Jimin, not again!” Yoongi groaned, looking horrified. “Remember the last time you tried to distract her with your singing? She cried for hours.”

But Jimin, undeterred, started blowing up the balloon with exaggerated effort, grinning like an excited child. “This will work. She loves this stuff.”

In the middle of Jimin’s balloon antics, the nurse finally went in to administer the shot. The moment the needle touched Yn’s arm, her eyes widened, and she let out a scream that was so loud it could have cracked windows.

Jin’s face turned pale. “No! This is not part of the plan! No crying!” He reached forward, his hands shaking, as if he could somehow stop the pain from reaching Yn. “It’s okay, little one, we’ve got you, we’ve got you…”

The baby’s cries only grew louder, and at that moment, it wasn’t just the baby who was crying.

Hoseok dropped to his knees, clutching his chest. “I can’t do this anymore. She’s going to hate me forever!”

“Stop it, Hoseok,” Yoongi snapped. “She’s fine. She’s just a little upset.”

But it was too late. By the time the nurse was finished, the entire room had descended into pandemonium. Jimin was jumping around with his balloon animal, trying desperately to cheer Yn up, but the baby was too far gone. Taehyung had pulled out a full cake from nowhere, seemingly in preparation for the post-vaccination celebration.

“She’s had enough cake for the day,” Namjoon said with a sigh, seeing what was going on.

“Wait, I got this!” Jin said, suddenly remembering his role as the older brother. He rushed over, scooped Yn into his arms, and started singing the most off-key lullaby anyone had ever heard.

Everyone in the room winced, but somehow, Yn stopped crying for a moment, her big eyes blinking at her brother in confusion.

“See?” Jin said triumphantly. “I’m the best.”

Just then, Taehyung burst in again, holding a giant stuffed bear. “I think this will cheer her up!”

At this point, even the maids were quietly giggling in the corner, watching the spectacle unfold. It was clear that this was not your average trip to the doctor’s office.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Yn’s crying ceased, and she looked up at her family with big, doe-like eyes. She let out a little sniffle and then, almost as if she’d forgiven them all, she giggled and reached out for her toy.

Jin, relieved, breathed a sigh of relief. "See? She's fine. Everything went perfectly. Now, where’s that cake?"

As they all left the clinic, the once-high-strung crew of overprotective family members was finally starting to relax. “I think we’re all scarred for life,” Hoseok said, looking like he’d aged ten years in the span of 20 minutes.

Taehyung, however, smiled widely. “Well, at least we know now what Yn loves the most: chaos.”
