"Wow, I really hope this stupid thing isn't crooked, that would bother the heck out of me." Tyler fiddled with his hands as he tried to figure out what to say.

"So, I guess this is my video diary. I really feel silly talking to a camera about my day and stuff, but Anna said it'd be good for me to say my thoughts out loud." Tyler laughed as he pictured his future grandkids finding these weird tapes he made when he was eighteen.

"My name is Tyler Joseph. I'm alone in this basement because I really don't want my family finding me doing this.
I guess I really feel like school is going to be the worst thing in my entire life." Tyler rolled his eyes.

"Well, college I guess. I graduated last month and my mom found out that I lied about applying to schools..." Tyler remembered the look of pure disappointment on her face.

"College just isn't for me. I tried to explain that, but she wouldn't listen. I guess I don't know anything about what's good for me because I'm so young and so stupid. I'm still a child. Everyone knows exactly what I have to do in my life, and I never deserve a say." Tyler held his head in his hands and he glanced over at his ukulele on the old desk he would use to write lyrics on. He got out of frame, picked up the instrument and sat back down in the chair.

"Whatever, I feel stupid just talking to this machine. It's not going to hear me. It won't hear my problems. Maybe Anna likes doing this." He looked down at his hands resting on his ukulele. He thought about how passionate Anna was about showing him how to use the camera and to get him talking about his feelings. She wanted him to be happy so bad.

"I guess there's no accounting for taste," Tyler mumbled to himself, looking at the neck of his ukulele. He strummed a few chords and shook his head, almost disappointed. He leaned over and turned off the camera with a half-hearted sigh.
