The next day, Rain stood in the principal's office, her knuckles bruised and her heart heavy with dread. Principal Carter sat behind his desk, his stern gaze fixed on Rain. Jennie sat beside him, her eyes red and puffy, playing the victim to perfection."Rain," Principal Carter began, his voice cold and authoritative, "I have heard from multiple witnesses that you were the aggressor in yesterday's incident.""That's not true!" Rain protested, her voice cracking. "Jennie started it. She stole my notebook and—""Enough," Principal Carter interrupted. "Jennie told us what happened. She said you slapped her first and then kept hitting her. Your behavior is unacceptable. You are hereby suspended for two weeks. Consider yourself lucky I don't expel you."Rain's world shattered. She had expected some form of justice, some acknowledgment of Jennie's role in the fight. Instead, she was being punished while Jennie walked away scot-free.As Rain left the office, her classmates' eyes followed her, filled with scorn and satisfaction. She could hear their whispers, feel their judgment. It was then that a seed of dark determination took root in her heart. She would make them all pay, starting with Jennie.
