✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩Verity had learned that the woman- Lori, was actually a very nice lady, who had a son named Carl, who verity was very fond of.
She'd also learned, that the reason the city was blown up, was because people were eating other people and then coming back to life, she didn't really understand, she just pretended too so people would stop explaining it to her.
The man Lori was with, is named Shane. Verity had thought at first that Shane was Carl's father, but she was told that he wasn't here anymore. But she already knew that because she hadn't met him at the camp yet?
When they had left the highway they were on, they'd followed this group of people to this quarry and they'd all been together since.
Verity only bothered to learn a few peoples names, like the kind lady who gave her the granola bar, her name was carol and she had a daughter who was carls age, named Sophia. Carols husband was also there, but verity didn't like him very much so she hadn't bothered to learn his name.
There was also a man named dale, who verity thought was super awesome because he wore this funny hat that she'd learnt was called a "bucket hat" - she loved it.
Dale also had a camper, that verity thought was super cool and she loved it loads.
And then there was Glenn, who verity declared her absolute favourite of them all - as of right now anyways - Glenn was super cool and gave verity lots of nicknames.
Glenn left camp a lot to go back to the city to see if he could find anything, because he was the fastest. Every time he came back he gave verity a keychain he'd found. Her favourite was one he found on his last trip, it was a white kitty with a pink ribbon around its neck.
She also knew Andrea and her sister Amy's names, but she didn't really know much about them, because she didn't think they were interested in talking to her.
Lastly, there was Merle and Daryl. When they first got to camp, verity was horrified of the two, but after a while she realized they weren't scary at all - and she found Merle very annoying.
She'd liked daryl though, because sometimes, when Merle was hunting and daryl stayed back, he'd let verity sit next to him as he did whatever he needed to do.
Which she liked a lot because he didn't say anything when she was talking, so she was never interrupted, but she knew he was listening.
Right now though, she sat in her very own tent, it was a small one glenn had found for her, but she loved it anyways.
The door to the tent was pinned open so she could still be seen by everyone outside - Lori had done it so she knew where the girl was -
Verity laid on her stomach as she read the same book she'd read over and over again, she didn't mind though because it was about farm animals, and each of the animals had a different texture to them that she could touch.
It was starting to get darker out, so verity couldn't really see much, which made her frown. She'd asked for a flashlight, but Shane said it would be a waste of battery and she'd have to wait until the next day to read more.
Almost everyone was out of their tents, sitting around a fire that was cooking fish, they'd eaten fish every other time they'd eaten something, which wasn't often, but verity decided she hated fish now.
Verity flinched as her name was yelled out, closing her book before she crawled out the tent, stumbling when she stood "comin" she mumbled back, she knew they couldn't hear her, but at least she made an effort to answer.
Verity went and sat next to Carl and Lori, who smiled at her and offered her a makeshift plate of small amounts of fish "eat up" she said, verity gave her a smile before taking the plate, frowning at the fish before she began eating.
This was the runtime they'd had, every night, wether they had food to eat or not, they all say around a fire -minus Merle and daryl who made there own fire farther away- and they shared stories or talked, verity liked it better when everyone was quite.
When she was done eating she set her makeshift plate aside and walked back to her tent, leaning down to take off her Velcro pink sneakers before she stepped inside. She also changed into one of the two pairs of pyjamas she owned - they had bunny's on them -
Closing the tent and laying down, verity laid on her back and stared up at the sky, counting the stars before she fell asleep.
