Agent Fullman gave me a minute to comprehend this new revelation, which was gravely needed. Eli's sent a threatening video to someone. Someone important judging by how serious Fullman was taking the threat. What did she say?

'He's holding the country hostage for you.'

What the fuck, Eli!? What have you done!? Files? What files? He's not pulling a Wikileaks is he?

I shook my head vehemently, "I-I don't know anything about that."

"Of course not, you've been here all day with restricted access," she confirmed while putting her phone back away. "You understand the severity of the situation now?"

"What I understand is you're holding me without due cause," I changed the subject.

"You avoided questioning and evaded authorities for multiple homicides, including the murder of a federal agent, not to mention aiding a known international fugitive, now suspected of cyber espionage." Fullman patted her coat pocket, "Got your arrest warrant right here."

"If that's the case, I want my lawyer," I insisted.

Fullman shook her head, "That's the thing, Ms. Cooper. Can I call you Dani?"

"Only my friends call me Dani," I narrowed my eyes.

"Ok, Ms. Cooper, your boyfriend has some very dangerous associates. They have been known, well, it is assumed that they have orchestrated for key witnesses to die after privately meeting with their so-called lawyers. So perhaps you want to reconsider that request," she warned.

I frowned, "Last time I checked it was illegal for you to pressure me into changing my mind about lawyering up."

"Sure, I could be in a lot of heat for encouraging you to not call a lawyer, but I'm also sick of losing healthy witnesses to sudden cardiac arrest," she said honestly.

Oh right, that's the type of people Eli's been working for. I really shouldn't forget that. I started to wonder if the custodian who installed the camera earlier and turned my TV on was really helping Eli or if he was sent by Naito to keep an eye on me - to make sure I didn't talk. Talk about what? I had no clue. It's not like I knew anything of value, but that may not have mattered much to the yakuza. Probably the only thing that was keeping me alive was my value to Eli and his value to them.

I had to play my cards extra carefully. Perhaps Fullman's no visitor policy wasn't so horrible after all. Here I thought the only threat to my life was Triple-6.

"What's it going to take for you to understand I don't know anything," I sighed. "And that's the honest truth."

"Well let's go through what we do know. We know someone pulled some strings to get a federal mandated search for you two called off," she thought out loud. "That must not have come easy."

"I wouldn't know," I felt like a broken record.

"Such a shame," she faked disappointment. "The idea that someone in a criminal organization has the ability to make such a phone call... well I certainly lose sleep over it."

"Agent, I don't know any more than you do," I said exasperated.

"But Eli does, doesn't he?" she questioned.

"What are you suggesting?" I frowned.

"The thing is he's threatened a person in a position of great power in this nation, all of course for you, but it is very out of character for him," Fullman explained. "Sure, you could say having a love interest is out of character too, but he's never gone for national secrets even when the heat on him was severe. I don't have the necessary level authority to know what those documents contained, but something tells me it's not actually national secrets."
