Chapter 68

Sol Ah

“Too late,we are too late”

I heard someone say that. Funny how my situation was fucked up right now and all I could do was to hear people say things.

The strange medicine injected to my body did strange things,too. I fell on my knees,shaking violently as if I was possessed,every single part of my body ached more,my breathing became ragged.

Screams. I heard them later and looked aside to see that there were more people than before, that too with familiar faces. It took me decades to recognise them, my own brothers,parents and friends.

A tiny bit of relief filled in me but it was suddenly replaced by pain as I started coughing blood. Dying was suddenly on top of my bucket list and I'm not sure if I'll be alive to tick it off.

“SOL AH! KIM SOL AH!”

I heard someone calling my name now but it suddenly seemed to be coming far away or as if I was losing my ability to hear. More wails and screams, gun shots and thumping from a fight sounds came out but all were blocked off before it even could reach my ears completely.

Suddenly the little bit of awareness of my surroundings stopped. My head spun,vision doubled as I clutched on my head, closing my eyes tightly.

Next time,I opened my eyes, everything was red. And I had a thirst for blood.

| End of Sol Ah's P.O.V

Sol Ah's sufferings pierced her family's hearts. The screams she left without her knowledge and the scene of her coughing blood had brought Hoseok to tears.

At one moment her screams of pain stopped,her movements stilled and everyone around her stilled too,then the very next moment she stood up,facing Hye Jin who was few feet away from her.

Hye Jin's expressions changed from confusion to realisation to utter happiness. A smug smile tugged on her lips as she stepped towards Sol Ah,who stood like a frozen statue.

Hye Jin,"Man Wol."

"..."

"Yes,Empress."

Silence. Dead silence. Everyone stood in shock. Sol Ah sounded totally different,she acted very different and she seemed very different when she suddenly bowed to Hye Jin,a full 90° now no one would have thought that Sol Ah would do. Dr. Wang's laughter broke the silence as he clapped.

His mad science and strange medicine had finally worked in a right way this time.

Hye Jin,"Man Wol,my little girl."

"Yes,Empress."

Taehyung," What...? "

Mrs. Kim,"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?"

Mrs. Kim's rage filled voice reached every corner of the room, her anger had reached peak today, reached the breaking point. Beside her,Juhee stood motionless,her lips parted.

Hye Jin's eyes fell on them and she smiled even wide before speaking,"Oh! My dearest sister and Misuk~ Where have you been? You missed the show,your daughter had put up, earlier!"

Misuk," You-"

Juhee," Stop. Misuk,stay silent. It's my responsibility."

Misuk," But-"

Juhee stared at Misuk and that's when Misuk noticed her teary eyes,the vulnerable look on her face which was masked by the cold stone face, the same face which Sol Ah had on.

Hye Jin," Oh? Two mother hearts are getting crushed? Juhee since when did you start caring for her so much to call yourself her mother?"

Juhee," Shut up. Surrender and give my daughter back, right now."

Hye Jin," And if I don't?"

Juhee," Don't blame for the kind of death you'll face."

Hye Jin seemed unfazed by the threat instead she seemed full of pride.

Hye Jin, "Acting brave cause you got some puny little boys to help you? Oh,will they even help you after I tell them the truth?"

Juhee," I don't need their help."

Hye Jin," You don't? How brave. Then how about you first go against your own kid?"

Juhee looked behind, she had misuk were far away from the others as the guards let them to do so,this conversation was most likey not hear-able to them. She looked back at Hye Jin and glanced at her daughter next to her.

Juhee,"No. I want to go against you."

Hye Jin,"Why? Are you scared you'll hurt her or do you think she's not worth fighting against you."

Juhee looked back at Sol Ah again,with a saddened look. Sol Ah seemed strange in her eyes now,she even looked at her as if she were a stranger and not her mother.

Juhee,"Are you scared to fight me? Is that why you are making me go against her?"

Hye Jin," Definitely not-"

Juhee," Then fight me. Let me see why you were the one who got the throne and not Jiwoo or me."

Hye Jin," You are questioning my ability?"

Juhee," Maybe I am."

'Where did I went wrong? Was I too careless? Maybe. I should have taken better care of her.' Misuk thought

She stood by Juhee,their conversation was the last thing she concentrated on,her eyes lingered on Sol Ah,who stood silently behind Hye Jin,the look on her face pierced her already broken heart.

This was pure torture. To her and to the girl whom she had raised like her own daughter, in the cold world but she couldn't stop the sharp blades or the flames of the fire of hatred and pain which successful harmed her daughter.

Sol Ah had grown up in one of the cruel part of the world yet she had heart that of golden. She had brought happiness to all the people who had ever cared for her and now she stood,on the side of a person who had hurted her, hurting everyone.

Misuk's blurred eyes due to tears could only capture half of the two sisters fight infront of her. She could only stare helplessly, taking glimpse of everyone else in the room,her sons being held captive by the enemy,her husband nowhere to be seen and her daughter? She stood like she was a frozen statue until she finally moved when a familiar voice commanded her to do so.

Blood drained from Misuk's face when Sol Ah pulled out a gun and pointed at her.

I am alive,lol.

Last year of school is hectic so I didn't post,well I might not too for now, I have exams starting from 5th August (😭) which is like day after tomorrow.

So yeah,this is a last update for a while.
