Ana's perspective
I woke up with the first light of dawn, excitement bubbling in my chest. Today was the day we were going snorkeling, and I could hardly wait. I got out of bed quietly, trying not to disturb the peaceful morning silence of the villa. After a quick shower, I dressed in a comfortable sundress and made my way to the living room. The villa was quiet, with only the soft hum of the air conditioning breaking the silence. I glanced at my phone, noting it was still early.
As I settled onto the couch, my thoughts wandered back to the previous evening. The guys from the pool had seemed so carefree and fun, especially the one who had splashed me when he jumped into the pool. Though I still didn't know his name, I could see his face clearly in my mind, the way he had laughed with his friends and joined in our dancing yesterday night.
I shook my head, trying to focus on the day ahead instead. The anticipation of snorkeling added a buzz of excitement that made it hard to sit still.
Gradually, the villa started to come alive as everyone woke up. Sofia was the first to join me, her eyes still half-closed but with a big smile on her face. She climbed onto the couch next to me, her plushie clutched tightly in her arms.
"Morning, sleepyhead," I said, ruffling her hair.
"Morning, Ana," she mumbled, leaning against me.
Tiago and Daniela were next, both looking slightly groggy but in good spirits. Tiago stretched and yawned loudly, while Daniela made a beeline for the coffee machine.
"How about we head out for breakfast?" I suggested, once everyone seemed more awake.
"Sounds good to me," Tiago agreed, still rubbing sleep from his eyes.
"Count me in," Daniela added, sipping her coffee.
As we settled into our seats and waited for our food, I couldn't help but observe the scene around me. My parents and Aunt Isabel were deep in conversation, their faces animated as they discussed their plans for the day.
My mom, with her warm smile and kind eyes, always had a way of making everyone feel at ease. She was the glue that held us all together, always knowing how to keep the peace and make everyone laugh. My dad, on the other hand, was more reserved but equally loving. His quiet strength and gentle demeanor were comforting, and he always knew just what to say to make us feel supported.
Aunt Isabel, sitting next to my mom, was a force of nature. She had been through so much, having divorced when Tiago and Daniela were young, and raising them on her own. Despite the challenges, she had always been a pillar of strength and grace. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a way of turning even the toughest situations into something manageable. She had a vibrant personality and a fierce love for her children, which was evident in everything she did.
"What's the plan for today?" Aunt Isabel asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. Her question pulled me back into the conversation.
"We're going snorkeling this afternoon," I replied, smiling. "We booked it for 4 PM."
"That sounds wonderful," my mom said. "We've got a few things planned as well. Maybe a visit to the spa and some shopping."
As I watched them, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for my family. Despite our differences and the occasional disagreements, we always managed to come together and make the most of our time together.
Just then, Sofia piped up, her eyes wide with excitement. "Oh, can I go to the kids' club after breakfast? Please?"
I laughed. "Sure, Sofia. That sounds like a great idea. We'll pick you up from there later."
