You were a nail tech, it wasn't very practical back in the 1900s but someone had to do it

And it was weird to see a man walk in, but Alastor was a frequent visitor and you always did his nails

One time you figured he must've worked late because he walked in a few minutes before you were closing, no one else was there and you had nothing to do and figured you could spare the time for your regular visitor

While working you decided to finally ask, "so why do you always have blood and dirt under your nails?" You asked curiously

He stood still for a moment in the chair and thought of how to answer that before he finally figured he could trust you, "well I kill people, dear"

You froze, staring down at the nail file you had and pausing your work, but at the same time you were a nail tech. That wasn't the weirdest thing you heard, so you shrugged, "long as I'm not on your list." You responded

He chuckled, "never would dream of it."
