Zero has never been seen without his helmet in official media. In the Bandai Mega Armor series of figures, Zero's head has no hair, and his ponytail is merely attached to his nape. Alternatively, the Rockman X manga frequently shows Zero without his helmet, giving him a full head of blond hair. This was addressed in U-Capcom, which admitted that the series designers have differing ideas of how Zero's hair should look, and there is no clear answer to the matter.
