The stairs at night

In the night where shadows rise,
A chilling whisper follows you,
Footsteps echo on the stairs,
The lights flicker, then turn off.

Haunting dreams that terrorize,
The fear you feel is breaking through,
You can sense me everywhere,
Darkness deepens, switch is off.

Underneath the moonlit skies,
A ghostly figure hunts for you,
Silent screams ascend the stairs,
Hope fades quickly, light is off.

In your mind, where horror lies,
Dread and panic start anew,
You ascend but no one cares,
Safety vanishes, lights off.

Eerie winds begin to rise,
Cold breath whispers close to you,
Closer now upon the stairs,
Heartbeats quicken, lights stay off.

Never safe from ghostly ties,
Restless spirits shadow you,
As you climb those haunted stairs,
Don't look back, the lights are off.
