As ma'am starts to tell the story further...
In the story
Another day dawned, but for Ruhi, time stood still. The same haunting questions swirled in her mind, refusing to relent. Fear and uncertainty gripped her, casting a dark shadow over her every waking moment.
Ruhi uthoo.. it's already 7, 8 baje test hai na, chlo jaldi neeche aao!" her mother called out.
Coming, Maa! Ruhi replied, hastily making her way downstairs to begin her morning routine. After breakfast, her mother asked anxiously:
Ruhi M. - Baccha have you prepared well? And you're not thinking about what happened last night again, are you?
Ruhi - Yes Maa, I prepared for it all, and...don't worry, I'll not think about that again. (She stammered) forcing a reassuring smile to hide her turmoil.
Despite her diligent preparation, Ruhi's mind remained clouded with distress, and during the online test, she struggled to focus. Questions she knew she had studied seemed insurmountable, her thoughts consumed by the weight of her emotions.
The test results were out in a matter of minutes, and Ruhi's apprehension turned to dread. For the first time, she had scored abysmally low. She knew what was coming, and her heart sank.
Before she could muster the courage to apologize for her poor performance, a stinging slap landed on her cheek, leaving an indelible mark. The perpetrator was none other than her own mother.
Ruhi's eyes welled up with tears as she reeled from the shock and pain. The slap wasn't just physical; it was an emotional blow that shattered her already fragile confidence.
"Sorry, Maa..." Ruhi stammered, her voice trembling with fear and regret.
But her mother's anger showed no signs of abating. "How could you be so careless, Ruhi? You've disappointed me once again!" The words cut deeper than the slap.
Ruhi's face burned with shame and tears streamed down her face as she struggled to come to terms with her mother's rejection. The weight of her disappointment crushed her, leaving her feeling lost and alone.
At this moment, Ruhi's sorrow knew no bounds. Her desperation for validation and love from her mother seemed forever out of reach.
Ruhi M. - how could you do that ruhi ? Abhi last week se final exam hai aur ye tumhara performance hai huh ! Ab pta chala kal konse darwane sapne aa rahe they tumhe ( she furious angrily)
Ruhi - maa it's nothing like that, I did prepare for it very hard. I didn't know how it got very low . Sachi maa maine har sum- example solve kiye they ( she starts shivering as trail of tears find their way through her cheeks )
Again a tight slap landed on her cheeks !!
Ruhi m. - JUST SHUT UP !? You brat what you think you can lie to me and I'll trust you.. listen clearly agar iss board mai tumhare score low hue tho siddha dehradun jaogi tum fir wohi padhna AKELE! Aur apne pagalpan ka natak Krna.. mummy se dur ni Janna hai na huh? Rahogi fir waha bolo jana hai ?? ( She screamed frustrated)
Ruhi - nahii..nahii maa I'll try my best of best.. please mujhe aapse alag ni hona maa please.. I'll do.. I'll do my best ( she stammered and started feeling the panic attack hovered over her body )
Ruhi m. - this is what will be good for you.. now leave and work for it
Ruhi - "Oo...kay, okay..." (she muttered, her voice trembling)
As the panic attack engulfed her, Ruhi hastily retreated to her room, clasping her hand tightly over her mouth to stifle the scream building inside. Her mind reeled, haunted by the echoes of her mother's words and the lingering memories of past hurts.
