Ruhi and Mayank entered their respective classes after the morning encounter with Tarun. As Ruhi stepped into her classroom, a hushed silence fell over the room. The students stared at her in shock, their eyes wide, as though they were trying to process what had just happened.

No one had expected her to come back to college after the confrontation with the notorious bully. After all, the rumors had spread like wildfire. Most of the students thought that she wouldn’t even make it past her first day, considering how intimidating Tarun was.

Ruhi felt the weight of everyone’s gaze. She shifted uncomfortably, the heat of embarrassment creeping up her neck.

Ruhi (to herself): Ye log hume aise kyu dekh rahe hain?

She whispered this under her breath, but Mayank, always the dramatic one, caught it.

Mayank (grinning): Abhi jo maidaan pe jung hui thi apki, uske liye. (He said dramatically, pretending to wield a sword.)

Ruhi rolled her eyes, her face turning slightly red with annoying:- Seriously?

Ruhi (sarcastically): Tumhe koi baat seedhi bhaasha mein bolni nahi aati kya?* (She raised an eyebrow.)

Mayank (smiling sheepishly): Sorry, sorry.

They both took their seats, and the class began. To Ruhi’s surprise, Tarun didn't bother her during the lecture. She had half-expected him to make some snide comment, but instead, he remained quiet. Maybe the presence of others in the classroom was keeping him in check, or maybe he was just biding his time. Either way, it was a rare moment of peace, and Ruhi appreciated it.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the recess. Ruhi packed her bag and walked towards the canteen, hoping for some time to herself to relax and eat in peace.

As she was walking, a voice suddenly broke through the sound of the bustling crowd, making her heart skip a beat.

Tarun (with a mocking smirk): Tumhe kya lagta tha, pure college ke samne tum mujhpe chila ke chali jaogi aur mai kuch nahi karunga? Huh?

Ruhi froze for a moment, then turned to face him. The same arrogant, entitled look on his face made her blood boil.

Ruhi (casually): Na... nahi bilkul nahi. Mujhe laga tha ek baar toh tum maafi mangne aaoge, aur agar tumne nahi ki, toh khair, jaldi maafi mango aur daffa ho jao! (She shrugged nonchalantly.)

The words didn’t sit well with Tarun, and his anger flared up. He took a step forward, his fists clenching.

Tarun (gritting his teeth): Tum lit...

Before he could finish his sentence, a middle-aged man, dressed in formal office attire, called out to him.

?? (with a friendly tone): Tarun beta ek kaam… Arey, Ruhi tum yahan kaise?

Ruhi blinked, surprised by the interruption. The man had a pleasant face, with a hint of concern in his voice.

Ruhi (smiling politely): Uncle, yeh mera college hai. Papa ne bataya nahi aapko?

Tarun looked at her, stunned. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Tarun (stammering): Aap... aap kaise jante ho papa!?

The man chuckled, completely unaware of the tension that had just risen between the two.

Tarun’s Father (chuckling): Arrey, yeh meri dost ki beti hai. Bhul gaya tumhe bataya tha, Delhi se aane wale hain.

Ruhi smirked internally as she noticed Tarun’s shocked expression. He was clearly caught off guard.

Tarun’s Father (looking at him with a raised brow): Kya hua, beta? Tum kyu chok ho gaye?
