Katy's POV

After the encounter with Ash, I realized that I have to be careful in this town. That means Daemon and Dee, and everyone else are hanging around and if they see Adam and Aaliyah, they might realize that Daemon is the father. I moved to the very place that all of them live. What are the chances in that? Releasing my sigh, I walk to the fridge and pull out the leftover potato salad for dinner.

"Adam! Aaliyah! Let's eat some of the potato salad for dinner!" I shout. Both come sprinting into the kitchen and plop themselves down on a chair at the kitchen island. The apartment that I rent is big enough for me, Adam and Aaliyah. The twins share a room with two different beds and I have my own room, but it's quite cozy in here. Scooping both of them a plate of potato salad, I watch them finish their plates as I start mine. Adam reaches over the counter to scoop himself while I grab the mail that was pushed through the mail slot of the door. Flipping through each of the letters, I see something from Grove Elementary School. I realize that this must be the stuff for Adam and Aaliyah. I brought the school supplies that I bought them from their previous school, thinking that it can be used for their new school. Opening the letter, I scroll through the school supplies, disregarding the original letter. Their original supplies will do them fine.

"Mommy?" Adam calls. "Do we have to go to school tomorrow?" He looks at me from across the room as I walk over to him and Aaliyah.

Smiling at him, I my my hand in his hair and ruffle the top of his head. "Of course you do. An education will get you far in life."

"What about you, Mommy?" Aaliyah asks. "Is that why you're going to that school?"

"I'm going to school to learn to do something that I love, professionally. And so I don't have to work at a grocery store for the rest of my life." I look at both of their faces as they put their dishes away. "Since both of you have school tomorrow, go pack your bags, brush your teeth, and go to bed. I'm going to finish wit disposing of those boxes." I watch them scurry out of the kitchen and into their room. I walk over to one of the six boxes remaining and begin to unpack the kitchen supplies. I hear the water running once I finish with the kitchen supplies and grab the miscellaneous box. I open the box to see that alien plush toy, DB. I stare at it, thinking about Daemon, again, because he can never get off my mind. In your dreams, Kitten. Damn Daemon for doing this to me. One day he cares enough about me to get himself caught on purpose and then he leaves me high and dry once we get out. Thank God for giving the Department of Defense and Daedalus a reason not to come after us.

I tuck Adam and Aaliyah into bed at 8:45, once I was done putting away the last of the boxes and kiss them on top of their heads. "Good night," I whisper.

Adam and Aaliyah respond, "Night, Mommy." I turn off the light and close the door to their room and walk into mine. I collapse on to the bed and bring my MacBook Pro laptop, the same one that Daemon gave me a long time ago. It still is useable after all these years. I look at my blog and then power down the laptop and turn off the lights. I stare at the ceiling, counting sheep until I start to doze off - dreaming about Daemon.

Dee's POV

"Now can you tell me your plan? No one is at the house but you and me. Daemon, Andrew, and Dawson are searching for those Arum and Bethany is at her house with Ash." Ash whines, which she usually doesn't do.

"There's a parent night for the first graders and I was thinking of making Daemon come. I mean, he can be an assistant for me. I'll have him carry the stuff that I need to bring and act lazy. That always works for him." I respond as I have the pots clean themselves.

Ash stares at me with a judging look. "I think if Daemon sees Katy and those children aren't his, that will kill him. Shouldn't we find a way to keep them separated until we know the truth?" I look at her as the truth of her words sink in.

"Katy isn't the type of person that would get over one guy by sleeping with another." I respond automatically.

"The funny thing about meeting her children was that the boy, Adam, he picked up some sand and threw it and it - froze."

"That means-"

Ash cuts me off, "They might be Daemon's after all because of-"

"We can't just assume, we need proof. I can ask their kindergarten teacher about parental information and contact. Maybe Daemon is listed as the father." I answer.

The door bangs open and Daemon, Andrew, Dawson, Bethany, and Ash (on Bethany's hips) enters. "Who is listed as the father," Daemon asks.

I quickly retort, "None of your business what I say when you're not in this house. And stop eating all of the ICE CREAM!" Daemon smirks at me as I yell about his ice cream habits.

"I bought you some more; don't get fussy with me," he says as he tosses a bag on the kitchen island. I look into the bag and see three ice cream cartons and place them in the freezer. This is going to be awesome! Daemon might actually have something that he will look forward to, instead of fighting with everyone when it's not about ice cream.

Daemon sits down on the couch and turns the TV on to the news. Dawson walks over and takes the remote from the coffee table and Daemon threatens, "You change the channel - "

"And you'll pick a fight with me. Daemon, you are more moody than I ever was. You could have always brought Katy with us when we left. It was your choice to leave her behind, not ours." Daemon picks himself up off the couch and towers over Dawson. After their stare off, Daemon stalks up the stairs and slams his bedroom door. Everyone stands silently until Dawson breaks the silence. "I think I'll take Bethany and Ash home now. Good night, Dee."

Releasing the sign, I reply "Good night, Dawson."
