Today, Helaena joined Vaella at her embroidery exercises. Usually, the silver haired prefers to spend her time alone but on some rare occasions she wants company. It is silent. Only the sounds of their needles digging into the fabric and the soft breathing of the girls to be heared. It is not an awkward silence. More of a peacfully moment, they share.

Throughout the time Vaella steals glances at Helaena's embroidery work. She watches in awe as her sister gracefully moves her needle across the fabric and creates a beautiful pattern. One day, Vaella wants to be as good as her. Though every time she tries to imitate her it doesn't work out the same way.

It really demotivates the little princess. It bothers her so much that she ponders about skipping her embroidery exercises for the day. She is about to push that thought aside when she suddenly notices Jace standing in the door. His normally shining face seems saddend and tired. Vaella turns her gaze to her sister again. It is rare that the two of them spend time but Jace needs her now.

"I'll be right back.", Vaella tells her sister with an apologetic expression on her face. She carefully places her unfinished embroidery on a nearby table and gets up from her seat. Helaena briefly looks up from her pattern and lets her gaze follows her sister with a strange expression. The dark-haired girl exists the room and approaches the boy from behind.

"He left.", Jace senses her presence and turns around to face the girl. "Left? Who left?", Vaella asks puzzled as she closes the door fo more privacy. "My father.", Jacaerys nervously fiddles with his hands. The girl opens her mouth in shock. "Ser Laenor? How can he-", she is cut off by Jace. "No, no. Ser Harwin.", the boy seems confused himself by his own statement.

There is a meaningful silence between them. "What are you saying?", Vaella breaks the long stillness between them. "The truth.", Jacaerys says with a shaky voice. "How do you know?", the girl is still suspicious over the statement. "Vaella, just look at me.", Jace mentions to his brown hair and pulls at it aggressively. "Look at me. Are you accusing me of being a bastard too?", the girl mentions to her dark hair.

"No, of course not. But my mother didn't denied it either.", Jace lets his hands fall to his sides again. "If Rhaenyra nor Laenor admitted these rumours to be true, they do not exist.", the girl wants to stop him from saying it out loud. "If you believe into these accusations they will only be coniformed more.", Vaella clarifies the matter.

Jacerys lowers his gaze to the ground. The stone floor seems more inviting than the superior girl. He feels both ashamed and stupid for not looking as prospectivley and smart as her. "Jace, think about it. If you do not deny these accusations not only you will be affected but also your brothers and mother.", Vaella lays her hand on his shoulder in a comforting way.

"I'm sorry.", the boy mutters with his gaze still glued to the ground. "For what?", Vaella lets her hand fall to her side again. "For being stupid", Jacaerys slowly lifts his gaze to meet the princesse's eyes. "And for bringing you in danger.", Jace bashfully takes the girl's hand. "What do you mean?", Vaella asks confused as she welcomes his hand gently.

"You're my betrothed and are also affected by my reputation. But I promise you now, I shall never let anything happen to you. You will always lay above all my priorities and shall always find attraction from me. I shall worship you as my wife and companion above all.", Jace promises his betrothed with a serious expression. Vaella is hit completely unexpectedly and can only give him a highly thankful smile due to her loss of words.

Alicent is again forced to scrub the rotten and wrinkled skin of her husband. The steaming water is dirty from sweat and the smell of it fills her nostrils. The only thing that crosses the queen's mind is the word disgusting. Viserys tells his wife about the newest occasions on court. She is barely listening until something important reaches her ears.

"What have you said?", Alicent asks her husband in complete disbelieve. "Rhaenyra will leave to Dragonstone with her family and husband.", Viserys informs his wife oblivious to her discontent. "No, after that.", Alicent stops brushing his back and lays down the harsh brush. "She will take Vaella with her.", Viserys leans back against the bathtub and closes his eyes in satisfaction.

"How could you allow that?", Alicent furiously stands up from her stool to face the king. "I do not see the problem.", Viserys again opens his eyes. "She is my daughter.", the queen hisses. "Alicent, she is Jacaeryse's betrothed. Her place is by his side. Now, please massage my leg it is hurting since this very morning..", the king waves his wife off and lifts his leg for her. But instead of doing as her husband wishes, Alicent wrathfully rushes out of the room and leaves the king alone.
