Jace has been occupied with Lucerys for most of the time, leaving Vaella all alone. Normally, she would just spend her time with Helaena but since the strange incident, the brunette wasn't that comfortable around her sister anymore. She much rather enjoyed her time walking alone through the gardens of the Red Keep.

The Princesses little walk ends under the large Weirwood tree. It's massive bole has always impressed her as a child and the red leaves would be carved into her memory till doomsday. She remembers how her mother once told her a tale about a young girl living her life in serving the Princess of the realm by helping her out and reading to her under the tree.

It was her favourite, till it became dark. Every tale her mother told her always had a bad ending. Something she realized with the time. The Princess of the realm started to avoid the young girl that was serving her. The young girl became isolated and was left with no friends or opportunities. In the end she had to marry an old and bruised man. What a horrible ending.

As a child, Vaella never really understood why she found the ending so horrible. Marriage is an ordinary occur everyone has to face eventually. But now she knows. It is the fact that it was and is so common for young girls to be married to rotten remains, that always has and always will horrofy her at least a little.

Vaella reaches out a hand to touch the bright bark. Even though she was raised in the faith of the seven, this Weirwood tree does give her a prickling feeling. She softly traces the rough cracks of the bark as a shadow appears behind her. Before she can turn around to face the person behind her, an all too familiar voice speaks up.

"Sister.", Aemond greets her with low voice and clenched jaw. Vaella faces an almost unfamiliar grown man with long silvery hair. "Aemond.", she sighs a little at how strange he appears to her. Almost as if he was far away, not the brother she once knew. The red scar under the eyepatch makes her lower her gaze for a moment. To this day, she can only feel regret at how things turned out for him all these years ago. Maybe she could've changed something this night. But she definitely hasn't and Aemond would carry this mark for eternity.

Aemond also takes his time to observe his sister. He notices the significant changes in her appearance. Vaella looks older, more mature, more beautiful. Her ice blue eyes pierce right through him, when his eyes land on her small bump. Alicent told him about her carrying a child but seeing it now right infront of him ... he does not like it, not at all.

"So it is true. You're carrying a bastard's child.", Aeomond remarks after a while of observing his younger sister. Vaella feels her heart stinging a bit and must suppress herself from rolling her eyes. Really, the same story all over again? "I'm carrying my husband's child.", Vaella corrects his insult.

"Where's the difference?", Aemond scoffs, tired of her usual denying. "The difference?", Vaella can't believe what she's hearing. "The differnce is, that he's not. These insult is a mere assumption and slander at the heir of the throne. Don't you have other rumours to talk about in Kingslanding?", she asks annoyed.

"We do. But with the returning of my favourite nephews ... i thought it might interest you we still haven't forgotten. Don't make yourself too comfortable with your new duties as a wife and future mother.", Aemond warns and takes a step towards her. Vaella frowns at his words as she gets more and more uncomfortable by his proximity.

"Cut the riddles and come to the point.", the brunette says with furrowed eyebrows. She is tired of the way all of her siblings seem to never tell her what they truly mean. Aemond looks around the garden to make sure nobody is around before he proceeds. "Just make sure this bastard growing in you will never see the light of the world."

With one last look around the place, Aemond steps away from her and leaves the garden. Vaella's gaze gets stuck in the direction he left. How can he say something like that? This child growing in her may not mean something to him but he most definitely knows it means something to her. The Princess always thought Aemond was the only one truly caring for her in this family besides Helaena. Didn't they always had some kind of connection? Doesn't feel like it anymore.
