CHAPTER ONE

James Lexington, the lovable prince of New York, sat on the cold tiles as he sipped his champagne in his left hand while dipping another hand onto the cold pond.

He sighed as he crossed his legs and leaned against his shoulder, the air was getting cold in the night, and he didn't even shiver in his expensive Saint Laurent suit.

Laughter and clinking glass in the distance still ringing in his ears, but James didn't bother to look another way.

Throwing pieces by a piece of the bread he had taken from the kitchen, James watched the two couple of ducks padding toward him.

He watched them sharing bread, waiting for another to eat first, without knowing he had given them a sad smile, "You guys still love each other huh...after all these years"

Since the afternoon, James hasn't felt satisfied with himself and the party. Celebrating Sebastian Clifton's 60th birthday, Mr. Clifton prepared a huge party for all his friends and associates.

His father being the closest friend to Mr. Clifton decided that they would stay the night here.

But a party by Mr Clifton isn't just a party, it was a whole annual event.

James wasn't surprised if they gonna be fireworks when his watch hit midnight.

He had escaped from his family to wander around the garden, only to stumble across a pond.

Of course, everything had been familiar to him since the beginning.

And everything seems to remind him of her.

"There you are, James!" A voice appears close to him, he turns right only to meet one and only Henry Lexington, the brilliant golden boy who seems too perfect to exist.

Henry panted, taking a huge breath as if he had been running a marathon, "I've been looking at you the whole party, do you know how many people have asked me where were you?" he chuckled, letting his body fall the bench before he running his hand through his neat golden hair, "as if I'm a goddamn human GPS"

James only hummed and didn't have a mood to answer. Henry Lexington had noticed him, and with the witty mind, he is, Henry could understand the picture in the second.

He silenced, before finally opening his mouth, scratching the back of his neck "Anyway Amelia Lawson is here....and she also searches for you"

That made James's hair up, he snapped his head to his best friend, "She's here?!"

He cursed under his breath, "H-how" he muttered.

"Of course, she came because of her mother, she is close to Mrs. Clifton you know" Henry leaned forward, his chain necklace hanging on his neck, "You should tell her about you and Adeline or she start questioning about the ring" he pointed his finger to James chest.
