JUNGKOOK’S PAST -

"I heard our class has a guy who is married."

"No way, really?"

"Yes. It's a hot topic around the campus."

In a dimly lit classroom, at the back of the room, a group of classmates were gossiping loudly, their voices carrying a hint of mockery.

"I heard that guy got married the day he turned 18," one girl giggled, her voice dripping with amusement. "Can you believe it? Who does that?"

A lanky boy with messy hair chimed in, "I know, right? It's like he couldn't wait another day. Must have been desperate or something."

Their laughter echoed through the room, drawing more curious ears. Another girl, twirling her hair around her finger, added, "I heard his parents forced him into it. Imagine being so weak that you can't stand up to your own parents. How weak can a man be? Such a baby girl type."

"I know, right."

In the midst of this, Jeon Jungkook sat alone at his desk, his face a mask of cold indifference as usual, with no expressions on his face as he heard every word, but his eyes remained fixed on the textbook in front of him, pen moving methodically as he underlined important passages. He did his best to ignore them, feeling grateful that at least no one knew it was him they were gossiping about. No one except his best friend, Yoongi, who sat a few seats away, watching Jungkook with a mixture of concern and anger.

Yoongi stood up, his chair scraping loudly against the floor, drawing everyone's attention. He casually walked over to the gossiping group, his expression dark and unyielding.

"What's so funny?" he asked coldly, his eyes narrowing at the group.

The girl who had been twirling her hair stopped, a nervous laugh escaping her. "Wow. Is this the class cold king? How come you are here talking to us?"

"Just answer the question." Yoongi was cold as usual.

"Well, we were just talking about that guy who got married right after turning 18. Can you believe it?"

Yoongi's gaze hardened. "Yeah, I can believe it. And I think you all should mind your own damn business. You have no idea what that guy's been through."

The lanky boy scoffed. "Come on, man, it's just a joke."

Yoongi's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "It's not a joke when you're making fun of someone else's life. You think it's funny to mock someone who might have been forced into a situation they had no control over?"

The room fell silent, the students shifting uncomfortably. Yoongi's eyes scanned their faces, making sure his words sank in. "You all think you're so clever, but you don't know anything about what other people are going through. So maybe you should keep your mouths shut until you do."

With that, he turned on his heel and walked back to Jungkook, who had been watching the exchange with a mixture of surprise and gratitude.

"Thanks," Jungkook muttered as Yoongi sat down beside him.

"Just ignore them. They are already annoying."

Jungkook looked back at his books. "I am ignoring them," he muttered, though the tension in his voice betrayed him.

"You can just act casual as always. Just how they claim us as 'the cold kings.' They won’t know anything about it. You don’t need to worry. And about it... how's it going back home?"
