Soobin and Yeonjun's friendship had become the talk of the school. Their closeness, the way they always had each other's backs, and how they seemed to communicate without words made people suspect there was more between them than just friendship. Soobin, cold and reserved as he was, often wondered if there was truth to what people were saying. He knew his own feelings were complicated, but Yeonjun, the sunshine of his life, seemed completely oblivious to any romantic tension.
Yeonjun was innocent and carefree, his mind always focused on his dancing and future plans rather than romantic feelings. He adored Soobin as his best friend but was completely unaware of the depth of Soobin's emotions. To him, their bond was precious, but he had never paused to consider if there might be something more to it.
Soobin, on the other hand, often found himself silently observing Yeonjun, wondering if there would ever be a moment when Yeonjun would realize there was more beneath the surface of their friendship. But for now, Soobin kept his thoughts to himself, not wanting to ruin what they had.

.A new day dawned, and Soobin found himself sitting under the shade of a large oak tree at school, flipping through a book, though his mind wasn't really on the pages. Across the courtyard, Yeonjun was surrounded by a group of their classmates, laughing and showing off some new dance moves. The sight of Yeonjun's carefree energy brought a small smile to Soobin's face, though there was always that familiar tug of something deeper that he kept buried.
Suddenly, Yeonjun spotted Soobin and broke away from the group, jogging over with his usual burst of enthusiasm. "Binnie!" Yeonjun called, practically throwing himself onto the grass next to Soobin. "You should've seen it! I nailed that last move. Maybe I'll teach you sometime." He grinned, his eyes sparkling with pride.
Soobin closed his book and looked at him, his expression as calm as always, though inside he was a little amused. "You're always jumping around like that, Jun. One day you'll wear yourself out."
Yeonjun nudged him playfully. "Psh, you sound like an old man." He laid back on the grass, arms behind his head, gazing up at the sky. "Anyway, did you hear about the dance competition? I think I might join this year."
Soobin glanced down at him. "You should. You'd win for sure."
Yeonjun smiled brightly, turning his head to look at Soobin. "You really think so? You always say that." There was a brief pause before Yeonjun's face shifted to a more serious expression. "Hey, by the way... do you ever wonder why people keep talking about us? I mean, as if there's more going on between us than just... this?" He gestured vaguely between them, still smiling but curious.
Soobin tensed for a split second, but quickly masked it. He shrugged, his voice calm. "People will say what they want. It doesn't matter."
Yeonjun stared at him for a moment, then broke into a smile again, sitting up. "You're right. Who cares what people think? We're best friends, and that's all that matters." He gave Soobin a playful nudge. "Now, come on, let's go grab something to eat. You can tell me what book you were pretending to read."
Soobin stood up, following Yeonjun with a soft smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, knowing that for now, their relationship would stay just like this-close but not quite enough.

.In the Jeon mansion, the children were scattered in different corners of the house, each immersed in their own little world. In the living room, the youngest trio-Haru, Jihyoo, and Taechi-were running around, giggling as they played some elaborate game only they seemed to understand, their laughter echoing through the house. Every so often, Haru would declare, "I'm the king!" while Jihyoo would argue back, "No, I'm the queen!" Meanwhile, little Taechi just followed along, enjoying the chaos.
