2. Cannes, baby!

"CALLUM?......what....how did you...." My mouth is wide in surprise and although it comes out sounding like a sob, it's definitely of happiness of this moment.

His arms wrap around me tightly, his head bowed against my shoulder as he whispers in my ear. "I had to be here....you're in Cannes. You've bloody made it. You're incredible, you know that?"

He flashes that cheeky grin of his when we pull away, I'm still trying to wipe my tears away. "I'm so fucking proud of you right now Mais."

I can't believe that he's here. Callum came all the way to France when he's finally got some free time and he chooses to come and see my movie premiere. I honestly don't know how he wrangled his way in here either as the Cannes film festival is extremely exclusive but I do know that he's attended before so maybe that helped.

I'm stood there in complete shock as he mingles with Jacob and also Sofia, both he has met before a few times. When I finally step to join him him, his hand lingers on my back before he lifts it and puts it on my shoulder.

We mingle for as little amount of time as possible and I'm grateful when Callum starts saying he's tired at the afterparty so we can leave. I know that he'd never make an excuse to leave a party and it's actually because he knows I've been crazily overwhelmed this whole evening.

"thank you," I hum next to him in the taxi back to the hotel, his legs spread wide and my handbag resting on his thigh.

"Glad I could make it.." he smiles, really proudly at me and I want to cry.
