" Tune mujhe bataya nahi ki tera boyfriend bhi hai".

This was the first thing she heard as she picked up the call from her best friend, Smriti Mandhana. Jemimah Rodrigues was enjoying a good sleep after staying up late at night.

She was having a pleasant dream where she was smashing Australian bowlers, but her very rude best friend decided to wake her up by calling to ask such a silly question.

She rubbed her eyes and replied , " Kya yaar Smriti, Itni subah subah call karke meri neend bigadke tum itna bakwas question kyu puch rahi ho ".

Her reply came almost immediately , "Oh beta , subah nahi , dopaher ke ek baj rahe hai. Maine tujhe almost pandra calls kiye".

Jemimah groggily sat up, her mind still foggy from sleep. "Kya? Ek baj rahe hai?" she muttered, glancing at the clock and realizing Smriti was right. "Pandrah calls? Koi emergency aa gati kya ?"

" Tu call cut kar aur apne Manager Rhea ko call kar. She was also trying to get to you. Since you didn't pick up her calls , she called me thinking you might be with me." Smriti instructed her

Jemimah quickly hung up and dialed her manager, Rhea.

The phone barely rang twice before Rhea answered."Jemimah! Where are you. I've been calling you from the past hour " Rhea's voice was a mix of urgency and concern.

" Yeah , I know and I am sorry , I had a long night so I kind of slept in. Smriti called and mentioned something about some headlines?....." Jemimah replied sheepishly

Rhea replied , emergency and frustration evident in her voice " Yes about that , You check out the articles , Jem . But I suggest skipping instagram . I am on my way to your house right now".

"Ok " Saying this, she hung up her phone , still confused about the unfolding events.

As she scrolled through her phone , she found various missed calls from so many people along with messages .

She opened google and googled herself where she found numerous articles along with pictures of herself with a guy at a cafe, headlines screaming about her "new mystery boyfriend." The trolls were already out in force, criticizing her for her recent poor performance on the field and now this supposed scandal.

Her heart sank as she read through the many different headlines.
