" Fake dating , have you lost your mind , Rhea?"

Jemimah Rodrigues stared at Rhea in disbelief, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and incredulity and repeated her words again. "Fake dating? Have you lost your mind, Rhea?"

Rhea, the seasoned PR manager of the Delhi Capitals and Jemimah herself, sat across the desk, unfazed by Jemimah's outburst. Her expression remained calm and composed, the same way it had always been during countless media storms she had navigated. "I know it sounds......a bit risk taking, Jemimah, but hear me out, this is literally the best PR strategy" Rhea began, leaning forward slightly, her eyes reflecting a determination and excitement that Jemimah couldn't ignore.

Jemimah, still processing the absurdity of the idea, sank back into the chair, her mind racing. "I am getting trolls because of dating rumors, You know that, Rhea. Why would you think a fake relationship would solve anything?"

Rhea took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "Because, Jemimah, the public loves a good and healthy live story. They thrive on drama and headlines. Right now, they're focused on tearing you down. But if we shift the narrative, give them something else to talk about, we can control the story. A fake relationship can divert the attention from the negative press and show a united front. It's a classic PR move which hasn't been used in years"

Jemimah frowned, skepticism etched across her face. "But isn't it... unethical? I mean, lying to everyone? And who would even agree to something like this?"

Rhea allowed a small, reassuring smile. "It's not entirely about lying. It's about creating a narrative that protects you. And as for who would agree, I've already found someone."

Jemimah's curiosity piqued, despite her reservations. "Who?"

Rhea held up a hand. "I'll reveal that soon but you need to atleast agree first. It doesn't have to be over the top-just enough to shift the focus."

Jemimah shook her head, still doubtful. "I don't know, Rhea. It feels... wrong."

Rhea's expression softened, her tone gentle but firm. "I understand your hesitation, Jemimah. But think about it. This is a chance to regain control, to show the trolls and the media that you're not affected by their negativity. It's a temporary measure, just until the storm passes."

Jemimah sat silently, weighing her options. The thought of pretending to date someone, living a lie in front of the entire world, was daunting. But the trolls' relentless attacks had taken a toll on her, and the prospect of relief, even temporary, was tempting.

"Okay," Jemimah said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "Who is this person who agreed to do this?"

Before Rhea could respond, a knock was there on the door.

Giving her a knowing look , Rhea replied, "Come in, please"

A women possibly in her late twenties walked and hugged Rhea affectionately. She looked extremely beautiful but what caught her attention like a deer in the headlights was not the women. It was the person who entered after her .

Not being able to control herself , she poined accusatory finger at him and asked,

"Tum ?" .
