"I apologize on behalf of James. I don't know what's gotten into him."
"Don't worry about it. He's just being protective." Kaleb said.
"But he didn't have to be so rude to you and besides he was being too overprotective."
"I would of acted the same way if I had a best friend as beautiful as you."
I couldn't help but blush. No guy has ever told me I was beautiful. I'm always known as the weird girl who loves history, art, and books. Not to mention my awkwardness around people. And now Kaleb, my crush, is telling me that I'm beautiful. This must be some kind of a joke.
"Do you want to have lunch with me before you go to work?" Kaleb said interrupting my thoughts.
"Sure! I can't go to work with an empty stomach especially when the food court is right across my department." I said laughing.
"It's a date then!" Kaleb said.

Kaleb ended up taking me to my favorite Chinese restaurant across campus.
"How did you know this was my favorite place to eat?!" I asked him.
"Remember when we had that art history meeting here and you said this was your favorite place to eat."
"Awe you remember that!"
"Of course! I remember every thing you tell me."
"You are the sweetest guy I have ever met. Most guys are jerks and don't care but you're a gentleman. I like that."
"Well I have been told once or twice." He said trying to act cool. "No seriously Kimberly you are the most amazing, incredible, and prettiest girl I've seen. I don't understand why you don't have a boyfriend."
"I know why. It's because I'm weird and I'm not throwing myself at every guy I see. And because I'm not pretty enough."
He reached out and took a hold of my hand over the table.
"That's not true. You're very pretty. And you being different is what makes you really attractive. You're unique, there's not another girl like you. You're one of the few good ones left. Trust me I've looked."
"You think I'm attractive?" I said doubting myself.
"Of course! Any guy that doesn't realize how beautiful you are, are just plain stupid and you deserve more than that. Kimberly what I'm basically trying to tell you is that I..." My cell phone cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
Seriously my freakin phone has to ring in the middle of our moment.
"Sorry it's James." I said a bit annoyed.
"It's ok go ahead and answer it." He told me.
"Thanks. I'll be right back." I said getting up from the table and making my way towards the restrooms.
"Hello."
