I walked into class late since I had to go to the office and got lost about 9 times. It was my first day at a new school, in a new town, in new country, in a new continent. I still hadn't decided whether I was excited or scared, probably both. As soon as I opened the door I knew I was definitely terrified. I could practically see my anxiety rise, everyone was staring at me. My palms were sweating and my breathing had shallowed, I almost didn't hear the teacher over the sound of my blood pumping through my head. "Hi may I help you?" she questioned, so I handed her the paper I had been given earlier. "Oh. Okay sweetheart, I'm Mrs.Boar. Why don't you introduce yourself; maybe tell us where you're from while I find some papers you'll need." she stated after reading my slip. "U-um yes ma'am." I replied quietly. I didn't think I would have to do that, it never even occurred to me. I turned towards the class and I couldn't focus on anything long enough to see it clearly. A girl who was near the front row whispered loudly, "Does she even know what a brush is?" probably referring to my Princess Merida-like hair. Then a boy who must've thought he was hot shit, however I believe he looked like one of the dullest tools in the shed, laughed obnoxiously and replied, "Probably not!" Even though it was one of the worst comebacks ,to an extremely elementary school insult, I felt myself get physically smaller as most of the class erupted in laughter. Although, there was an asian looking boy in the corner, who gave an extremely fake laugh , then, looked down guiltily when we made eye-contact. The kid next to him was reading a book completely oblivious to what was going on around him. He was probably asleep, I don't know how anyone could see through the mop of curls, that made him resemble the shaggy haired stray I saw on the way here this morning. A girl who, looked like she wanted to say something but was too timid, was the last thing I saw before I started choking. I had stopped breathing properly a while ago and was now starting to suffer the consequences. As I went through the all too familiar yet completely foreign process I gave up trying to fight the tears, and I could feel them running down my burning face. The only thing I could hear was my thoughts screaming , telling me I was dying, everything else was background noise; I felt myself drop to the ground.
