I watched Sunghoon as he rested in the old, cushioned chair. His breathing had steadied, but the aura of danger still clung to him. The crimson moonlight filtering through the window cast eerie shadows across his face, making him look both ethereal and hauntingly beautiful. I couldn't shake the feeling that our paths had crossed for a reason far beyond my understanding.
My thoughts were interrupted as Sunghoon stirred. His eyes fluttered open, and he looked around the bookshop before his gaze settled on me. Despite his cold demeanor earlier, there was a softness in his eyes now.
"Thank you, Eunchae. I really mean it" He said softly. I nodded, offering a small smile. "It's nothing. You needed help."
He sat up slowly, wincing slightly but trying to hide it. I reached out instinctively, my hand brushing against his arm. "Careful, you're still hurt."
Sunghoon looked down at my hand, then back up at me. Without warning, he took my hand in his and brought it to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to my knuckles. The unexpected gesture sent a jolt through me, and I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Your kindness is rare. I won't forget it." Sunghoon murmured before suddenly disappearing. I found myself blushing to that kiss he gave me. I felt a strange connection to this mysterious man, as if there was something tying our fates together.
I was screaming on the inside. Uncountable thoughts were rushing through my mind, but all of that got interrupted by the librarian. Even though we are good friends since I always come here for new books, she knows I hate it when she teases me "Ooo, someone's blushing". I felt like throwing her across the room "Oh shut up" She laughed "Why? Did you fall for him already?" "No.... What makes you think that?" "Oh, I don't know".
"I happen to see him very often" My eyes widened, I turned my head to her "When? Where? What? Who?!" But just then I realised that I let my thoughts slip through my mouth "I mean... Really? Cool". She burst out laughing "You know.. I have to go" I said awkwardly, trying to get myself out of this as soon as possible. Gosh, she is gonna tease me for days now. Ugh! "Alright, goodbye rosy cheeks".
"But really, he has large, expressive almond-shaped eyes, and well-defined, slightly arched eyebrows that complement his gaze. His straight, well-proportioned nose and full, well-shaped lips, slightly pink, add softness to his sharp look. His's prominent cheekbones give his face a structured and sculpted appearance, while his sharp, defined jawline further accentuates his overall facial structure. With clear, smooth skin and a healthy, fair complexion, his visual appeal is just perfect, naturally framing his face. These features combine to give him a distinctive and appealing presence. WHAT IS THERE NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THIS MAN?!".
The librarian acted shocked "You're right, he's handsome.... But wait and see his reaction to what you just said" She told me, my eyes widening as she played the recorded audio "I'M SO GONNA KILL YOU" I said playfully but still a bit threatening. I ran her around the room, trying to catch her phone to delete the audio, but no success.
I eventually gave up "I actually have to go now. Delete the audio" Gasping for air, I picked up my bags and left.
I smiled to myself, replaying the exact moment when Sunghoon kissed my hand... Is he royalty? I know that humans don't really do that, especially when the person is a complete stranger that they happened to save, and the other way around. I shrugged it off and went back home, happier than ever.
Once getting home, I threw myself on the bed and stared at the ceiling, smiling. I don't know what to say anymore, am I falling in love? Or is it just that his charm is hypnotising me? I sighed and decided that going to sleep would be the best option because my mind was filled with too many things I couldn't take out of my head.
Stepping out of the shower, I was thinking to myself that I shout probably read a bit from that book I bought today, because tomorrow I won't have time for it. I dried myself and changed in my pyjamas. I got the book out of my bag and plopped myself on the bed. Maybe if I open it randomly I will find something interesting. And I did just so.
The first thing I read was "Vampires can look exactly like humans from a first glance, but the only way to make a difference between them and humans would be to find out if they have fangs. Sometimes people say that vampires have pale skin, but that is not the case in all situations" Saying it out loud made me understand it better, but how would I find out if Sunghoon is a vampire? I can't just say 'Can you open your mouth?' or 'Do you have fangs?', that's just weird. Plus, I am supposed to be a person people can trust, I want him to feel safe around me no matter what.
One thing I found really strange though is the fact that he 'put lights on his swords'... It doesn't make sense because he wasn't using swords, maybe if I was blind he used daggers, but that still wouldn't be pretty accurate.... So.... Where are the beams of light from... ?
