It took all your will power to not yell, "In your face!" at Mitsuri. You kind of whisper-yelled it anyway but nobody noticed. You also squeezed Obanai's hand to prevent him from running to Mitsuri's side to help her.
Mitsuri, on her part, was regaining her composure, and said with a forced smile, "Congratulations, Yuki-chan. I see you've finally found a boyfriend. All your hard work paid off". You hated how she was making you look desperate for love. "Uh, actually, Obanai asked me out. Very sweet of him", you said in a neutral voice. You silently prayed that Obanai would not contradict you.
He didn't. He nodded and said, "Yup, we had our first date today at Kanzaki's Diner". He put an am around your shoulders. Wow, he's pretty desperate to get her jealous. Everyone gasped. Mitsuri angrily left with Rengoku, who gave you an encouraging smile. Your heart fluttered. I guess I'm desperate too.
Shinobu made her way over to you. "Oh hi, Yuki! Great, now I'm not the only one who has an emo boyfriend". You recalled she was going out with their senior Tomioka-san who was in Obanai's class. "Yeah", you laughed. "Hey want to sit with me for lunch?" you asked quickly.
"Sure, but... aren't you sitting with your boyfriend?"
Oh, should've seen that coming.
"Um, how about we make a- a-"
"A double date", Obanai suggested. You jumped a little as you realized what he had just said. Shinobu laughed at your reaction. "Yes, I was like that too when I realized that Giyu could talk". She smiled at Obanai. "Yuki is really very precious. Do treat her nicely". You blushed. "Geez Shinobu he's not marrying me or something", you stuttered.
Shinobu chuckled, "That's what my sister said to all my boyfriends". "A-all your boyfriends?" you stammered, and even Obanai looked surprised. Shinobu just laughed and promised she'd meet you at lunch.

Lunch was a... silent affair. Well... Shinobu talked enough to make up for her boyfriend's silence. But some of the personal questions just kept reminding you what a terrible girlfriend you were. Silently you had to remember that you two weren't actually dating, and that it was OK for you to not know Obanai's snake's name.
"Kaburamaru", Obanai supplied. The snake hissed at the mention of it's name and slid down his neck and onto yours. "U-um", you stammered. "Oh, it's Ok! Even if he bites, I should be able to cure the poison. I'm wonders at chemistry", Shinobu supplied, which was not reassuring in the least. If he bites?! You mean he could bite! Calm, calm... You soon got used to Kaburamaru, who settled himself on your neck for the remainder of the day. You could tell Obanai wasn't too pleased with this development. But he was your pretend boyfriend and he was treating you much nicely than before.
Well, let's see how this day works out.
