Yuki's POV. (Btw I switch from second person to third person, please note!!!)

There. It was out. The question Yuki had dreaded asking. It was reasonable, she told herself. But the real scare was how much she'd come to like her enemy in just a day. If a day of fake dating could do that to them, what would happen if they continued for a month or six months or even years...

It won't come to that, Yuki promised herself. Though she kind of wanted it to. And now she was cursing herself for changing personalities in a day. Yippee.

Obanai didn't answer. He didn't look up at her. He just turned away. Did I offend him? How? I-I just asked a question! Yuki started to say sorry, but was interrupted by Obanai's voice, cold and menacing like it used to be when they were enemies.

"I did go that far for Mitsuri. I did kiss you for Mitsuri. You think I would willingly kiss you? You must be dreaming. We are in a business relationship. I don't care about you".

The words stung and they opened the subsiding wounds caused by Hikaru. She hated that boy, but she hated herself more. And Obanai was THIS close to be added to the What Have I Done To Deserve This? list. She steeled her eyes, as if turning the spilling tears to ice. Then she replied in a matching cold voice, "I expected nothing better from you. To think the son of a criminal could ever be capable of love".

She remembered that Obanai's mother and aunts killed people by snakebite and took their money. She knew the words were harsh, but she hoped they stung him as much as his stung her. Sure enough, he satisfied her with a seething, "How dare you talk about my family!"

"Isn't it true, though? I thought you said you were 'nothing like them'? So, Obanai, tell me. Are you proud of what your family has done? Are you proud that they killed so many innocents, proud that they spilled so much blood? Or, perhaps, you're proud because you're one of them..."

"SHUT UP!"

He turned to her furiously, catching and twisting her arm painfully. She yelped as blood oozed from the bruise he had caused. "SHUT UP! You know NOTHING ABOUT ME! NOTHING! You don't know what I went through! Don't you dare insult me!"

Yuki looked at him with a frozen look, her mind refusing to feel the shame she wanted to feel. "Lets forget this whole dating thing. It was never going to work out anyway. Just- just when I thought-" she broke off. She looked away, tears frozen on her face, like they were a part of it.

"Yeah. We should. This was your stupid idea".

She didn't register his words as she turned around and walked away. Then he yelled, "MITSURI'S BETTER THAN YOU!" That was the last straw. She flung her bag at him and sobbed, "I hate you", finally letting her feelings show.

Because forgetting the mission isn't the problem, Obanai.

Forgetting  you is the problem.
