I immediately plugged in my phone once I got home. As I waited for it to charge I walked to the kitchen to greet my mom. However she wasn't home. She was working late. Again. She had been doing that quite often nowadays. It worried me, I didn't want her to overwork herself. 

Although I knew how much we were struggling for money. It was one of the reasons I was doing gymnastics in the first place, so that when I got famous I had enough money to pay back my mom for all of her struggles. When I tried to say I could get a job she always shook her head. 

"I want you to enjoy your teenage years. Don't worry about it." She'd say with a tired smile. I walked back to my bedroom and looked towards my phone. 1%, it read. "Woohoo." I said, with little to no enthusiasm.
