chapter 3 -

"How do you know Mahinder?" Hardy asked Manu, as they walked, "I'm his sister." Manu replied, "Sister? Oh that's nice." Hardy said, they then reached Manu's house, Hardy looked at it, "oh, you have quite a big house!", Manu chuckled, "it used to be our house. Now we just live in the annex" she pointed at a small 1-story house and walked towards it, and Hardy followed her. She opened the front door and walked in, "these are my parents" she said as she put her stuff away in a cupboard, Hardy smiled at them
"Sasrikaal Ji, I've come from Pathankot"
Manu's father looked up, "Pathankot?"
Hardy nodded, "Yes"
Manu's father nodded, "a Hardyal Singh Dhillon lives there!"
"Yes that's m-" Hardy said before getting interrupted by Manu's father
"The wretch. Terrorists shot him on the highway, My son saw and took him to the hospital, and missed the Asian Games Selection to take care of him, and he left behind his tape-recorder for him, it's been a year, and he never bothered to return it.."
Manu then sat down beside her parents, then Hardy nodded
"This wretch was in the hospital for a year, I got discharged yesterday and I came here immediately to return the tape-recorder" he said while looking through the bag for it, and then handing it to Manu's father
"Where's Mahinder? My jaw was damaged, I couldn't speak. I want to give him a big hug and a thank you! Where is he? Is he not home?, Hardy asked

They went quiet for a minute, then Manu spoke up,
"My brother had an accident while coming back from Pathankot."
Hardy looked at her
"There was nobody there to take him to a hospital and take care of him.." Manu said

A few minutes later, Hardy and Manu went on the rooftop, to talk more
"My father's shop was burnt in the 1989 riots, he took a loan from Billa to restart, then my brothers accident.. when we got back from the funeral, Billa had seized our house and took all the furniture and our stuff out, Billa told my father, "repay me and then you'll get back your house." When he took off the 'Randhawa House' plate, my father cried like a child, he said, "if my son was alive, we wouldn't be in this mess", so I'm trying to go to London, to make enough money to repay Billa"

Hardy looked at her, "when do you and your 2 friends start training?" Manu turned her head and looked at him, "aren't you leaving tomorow? Your going on the train" Hardy nodded, "I'll fool the railways" he then took out his ticket, "I have a ticket" then he threw it, "but I'm not leaving" Manu smiled, "so, deal?" Hardy asked, Manu nodded, "Deal."

Manu, Emaan and Jawaria then met Hardy, at the wrestling club

Hardy was teaching Manu
"Thump your legs and shoulders"
"Slap the face"
Then Manu slapped Hardy
"Not mine!"
Manu nodded
"Oh ok, sorry"

"It's fine. Now push from the neck"
Manu sighed
"Coach Ji, can you skip all this? Teach me that move you did on Bobby"
Hardy nodded,
"Alright, give me your hand"
Manu held out her hand
Hardy then grabbed her wrist
"Grab the wrist, then grab the arm, position the leg"
Hardy grabbed her arm
"Can I flip you?"
"Ha ji.."
"Are you sure?"
"Ha ji.."
"Really?"
"Ha ji.."

Then Hardy flipped her over, Manu winced, "ow!"
Emaan and Jawaria instantly rushed over and helped her up
"Are you ok?" Jawaria asked, Manu nodded
The rest of the people who were there started laughing
"Don't laugh, she's still learning." Hardy explained, then he looked at Emaan and Jawaria
"What about you 2 try on eachother"

Emaan and Jawaria nodded
"Alright" Emaan said, "Jawaria, hold out your hand"
Jawaria held it out, then Emaan grabbed it and her arm, then positioned her leg, then tried to lift Jawaria off the ground, and failed miserably

"Come on Emaan, get this over with" Jawaria complained
"I'm trying, Didi!" Emaan said, "okay you know what I give up"
Jawaria chuckled, "am I really that heavy or are you just weak?"
Emaan shook her head, "probably both, Didi"
Jawaria scoffed, "rude much? Now let me try"
Emaan rolled her eyes, "alright"
Then Emaan held out her hand, Jawaria grabbed it, then her arm, positioned her leg and flipped Emaan over

Emaan groaned
"OWWWW"
Jawaria held out her hand, "you alright?"
Emaan took it, "I'm fine, thank you, Didi, that was real sisterly"
Jawaria chuckled, "don't be dramatic"

Hardy chuckled at the banter, "alright alright, calm down"

Eventually, after a week, they all successfully learned how to do it!
Hardy, Manu, Emaan and Jawaria went to the place where they went to get their VISA's

Manu opened the door, "wrestling learned! Get my VIS-"
The shop was empty, Buggu and Balli were sitting on the floor
"Manu, return my money" Buggu said
Manu looked at him, "why should I return it?"
Buggu looked up, "you found the agent?" He says, looking at Hardy
"I found him, I didint birth him" Manu said sarcastically
"My mom slogged up at the factory and saved up her money, how do I tell her that I took her money and got scammed? She'll be furious, she'll hang me!" Hardy spoke up, "I can try speaking to her" Buggu shook his head, "no, mom will be furious either way" Hardy sighed, "atleast let me try?"
