*Shawn's Perspective*

I hate her. I hate that girl. What's-her-face. What they say her name was? Annabelle? Ugh! I hate her name too. It's so childish.

So turns out that girl that was crying? Yeah she was the stupid girl who walked on the wrong side of the hall. So I slammed her on the wall. So what? She'll get over it. She's such a baby!

So after I got home from my mom's screaming fest I ran to my room. I felt like a kid running to my room and slamming the door but I'm so angry.

So I guess you heard my mom was pretty mad? Yeah, I'm grounded for the weekend and I have to apologize to that girl. Yeah right! I'm not apologizing to her! And as for the grounding thing, you may not think its too bad but I have that party in two days. It's gonna be the best party of the year. There's no way I'm missing that. I'm just gonna have to figure out a way to sneak out. It shouldn't be too hard- my parents are oblivious to everything I do.

So yesterday went by very slow, but thankfully, it's Friday! My mom has been very strict about this whole grounding thing. She hasn't let me leave the house for school until right before it was too late. She wouldn't even let me go pick up dinner for our family! I think she's going crazy.

I forget all of that as soon as I step through the doors of the school. I fell someone smack me in the back really hard. I whip around with my fist clenched, ready to punch the gutsy guy in the mouth. I suddenly get very dizzy from spinning around. I swing wildly with my fist even though I know it won't hit anything. I finally gain enough balance to find the guy on the floor laughing a laugh I know all too well. I see the glint in his gray-blue eyes- we make fun of his eyes for being too 'pretty'.

"Pete!" I exclaim as he leans on his knees trying to compose himself.

"Dude! That was the funniest thing I've ever seen. You need to work on your balance, buddy," he jokes.

I grimace. "It was your fault."

"Yeah right! And you call yourself a football player!" He laughs.I punch him in the arm.

"Hey!" he shouts at me.

"You deserved that, 'buddy'," I say mockingly. He punches me in the jaw- not very lightly I might add. I grab him and flip him onto the ground. He reaches up and grabs one of the dangling off my backpack and pulls me on the ground roughly. I punch him in the nose and it starts gushing blood. Well, I didn't mean to hit him that hard. In my moment of thought, he jumps on top of me and punches me twice in the jaw. I struggle to flip him over onto his back. We both finally give up and lay on our backs, making a sound somewhere between laughing and panting.

"Hey Shawn?"

"Huh?" I say, still breathing hard. He nods to something behind me. I slowly turn my head. Uh-oh. There stands Mrs. Frast, our schools toughest teacher. She scowls at us, tapping her foot. I scramble to my feet. Pete stands up and gathers our stuff which flew everywhere while we were wrestling.

"I suggest you boys get to class before I give you detention. And I want to remind you, no matter what you think this school is not meant for foolish fights."

"Yes ma'am," I say, staring at my feet as I hear Pete snickering behind me.

Pete and I rush off to our classes, splitting off at the very end since our classes are right next to each other. He slaps me on the back right as I step through the door.
