*Annabelle's Perspective*

'I should ink my skin with your name. And take my passport out again and just replace it...'

That's just about the time when I slam my hand on my phone trying to turn off my alarm. It won't stop. I don't open my eyes instead I feel around the screen waiting for silence. I finally find it and lay there with my eyes closed- still half asleep.

I jerk my head up. I must've fallen back asleep. I see the time projected up on the ceiling- 7:28. I have 17 minutes to get ready and get to school. Well I know that's not happening.

I rush and grab a pair of pants and slip them on. As I grab my hairbrush, I yank a shirt off its hanger. I pull it over my head while the hairbrush caught in the sleeve. I waste precious seconds trying to untangle my shirt and hairbrush. I run the hairbrush through my hair as few times as I can manage without it looking atrocious and pull it into a messy bun. I run to the bathroom, brush teeth, and splash my face with water so I won't look like a zombie. I don't even bother with makeup. People probably won't even notice- I only wear a little anyways.

By the time I pull into my parking space it's 8:16. My stomach rumbles from lack of breakfast. I ignore it and push my car door open almost hitting the car beside me. I jerk my backpack towards me catching it on the steering wheel.

"What else could go wrong?" I mutter to myself.

I practically sprinted to the front doors of the school. I grabbed the door to slow down my momentum. I attempt to pull the door open but instead I end up almost pulling my arm out of socket. I pull on the door a few more times just to be sure my theory is right- it's locked.

I resort to banging my fists on the door and screaming at the top of my lungs. Luckily there are a few stragglers still wandering the halls. I see a few look at me and hurry past. I must look crazy. I don't care though I need to get in.

Finally I see a small, mousy girl glance up at me to see what all the commotion was about. I could almost see the mental debate going on inside of her- open the door for the crazy person or not. She eventually scuttles over to the door and slowly pushes it open.

"Thank you! I've been standing out here forever!" I practically shout at her.

"You know there's a button right there that tells the office to let you in," her timid voice says, pointing right beside the door.

"Oh," I say, smiling sheepishly. I stare at the ground out of embarrassment. I see the small girl walk away and I head towards the office.

"What is your reason for being tardy?" Mrs. Lohe asks me as I sign in.

"I woke up late. Sorry."

" I want you to know, Annie, this is your last tardy opportunity. After this you'll get detention."

"Yes ma'am," I say bashfully.

"How are your injuries?" she says, not really paying attention to my answer.

"Fine," I say. "Great people skills, Annabelle," I mutter under my breath.

"What did you say, hon?"

"I said I was fine," I enunciate every syllable rudely.

"Ok," she glares at me. "You better get to class." I guess I just got on her bad side. That can't be good. She could slip me too many Advils next time I hurt myself or mess with my grades since I was so rude to her.

My train of thought completely slips my mind as I walk into class. Mr. Dyne glares at me. Great, I'm on another teachers bad side.

"Well, well. Two tardies today. You two thinking about skipping my class?" he says in his annoying monotone voice. I shake my head. I wonder who the other tardy person was. "Well, Ms. Smith and Mr. Cadowe, I suggest getting to class earlier because from now on all tardy people will have detention on top of what ever punishment you get from the office."
