( camille carras and the dancing disaster:
leo's pov )

I FELT HOT. not literally, but metaphorically. luckily, my head wasn't spewing steam for once.

those ballerinas gave me a makeover. they styled my hair and gave me a pretty sweet suit. even better, i get to dance. i could bust out some of my skills from homecoming.

i was still a little down from all the secrets camille was keeping from me, but i was still pretty excited to dance with her. i could totally impress her with my moves. maybe then she'd tell me everything she's too scared to.

i stepped into studio A where the ballerinas told me to go. apparently terpsichore should be waiting for us there. so i pushed the door open and stepped in, ready for my dance lessons

the first thing i saw was camille spin around to face the door. her curly updo bounced elegantly as she turned.

i may have started spewing steam this time. camille looked hot. like i always called her hot because, well, she is pretty hot. but right not, she looked like a princess. she wasn't particularly hotter than usual, just different, and i like different. different is good.

camille's ebony black hair was in some sort of updo that had curls of her hair bouncing out of it. it looked like a wedding hairstyle. her makeup was also done which i wasn't used to. i remembered camille telling me that as a child in the 1920s, she was never allowed to wear any makeup unless she was attacked by a monster and her grandparents wanted to cover it up in embarrassment (they never believed she was a demigod, they wouldn't let her go to camp). her makeup was blue and shimmery and her lips were really pink. i couldn't look away from her lips for a few seconds.

then there was her dress. the dress was short and blue and ruffly. it only went over one of her shoulders while the other was bare. a golden vine acted as the belt which showed off her pretty nice figure. she looked like a snowy princess with her pale skin, black hair, and blue outfit.

khione reminded me of her, but she didn't remind me of khione. khione was cold and evil, lifeless. camille believes she is lifeless, but she's far from it. even though she's a child of the titan styx, whose river borders between life and death, camille was very clearly alive. the way her cheeks reddened when i'd make a dumb joke or the way her brows furrow when someone says something she missed while she was in the labyrinth was a clear example of how alive she truly is. and right now, with her flowing hair and ruffly dress, she couldn't possibly look any more alive.

i'd always thought she was super hot, from the day she arrived at the wilderness school with no idea of what was going on, but now, it was more than that.

when i first met her, i liked her black hair and her big deep eyes. i thought her gloomy aura was alluring and her innocence to the modern world endearing.

now, i still believed those things times one thousand, but i also noticed so, so much more about her. she wasn't just some hauntingly beautiful religious girl born in the 1910s; she was ridiculously thoughtful, stupidly loyal, and insanely powerful. she put up with all my idiotic episodes and made me feel important.
