KARA'S DREAM

Kara opens her eyes and as her vision slowly fades in

How are you feeling, Kara?

A floating robot hovers up into the frame.

Reflexes are normal.

Kara gasps sitting up in the bed.

Kara: What are you?

Kelex: I am Kelex, your medical attendant.

Kara: Where am I?

Kelex: Your confusion will abate as your temperature stabilizes.

Kara: Where's Gracie?

Kelex: Would you care to dress?

Kara looks down seeing a blue dress laid out on the bed.

Kara: This was my mother's tunic. She used to wear it when she would put me to bed at night.

She looks up at Kelex

Kara: Where did you get this?

Alura: I gave it to you.

Standing out on the balcony is Alura, Kara's mother.

Kara: Mom?

Alura smiles and approaches her daughter's bed

Kara: How could you be here?

Alura: I stayed home every day while you recovered from the Argo fever.

Kara: You can't be real. You died with the rest of Krypton.

Alura: Oh, sweet Kara........you must have had terrible hallucinations from the fever. You kept saying the same strange name over and over again; Gracie. But it's okay now. You're awake. You're safe

Kara: Where is she? Where's Gracie?

Alura: Kara, who is this "Gracie" you keep referring to?

Kara: I.....I......I.....I.....I love her.

Alura smiles and pulls her into her arms in a warm motherly embrace

Alura: Well whoever she is, she must be really special. You're home.

Kara looks over her mother's shoulder before walking towards the balcony and looks outward at a vibrant beautiful city; she's back on Krypton.

Kara: I'm on Krypton.

Alura: Perhaps Grace is someone you met. Perhaps we could bring her here. I would love to meet her.

CATCO

Cat: Where is Ker-rah? And why isn't she answering her cell phone?

Cat walks out of her office. Grace and Winn are sitting at their desks.

Winn: Uh, you know, maybe she can't.........

Grace: We're actually in the middle of the worst solar storms in recorded history.

She stands up from her desk and gestures up to the tv monitors.

Grace: It's been scrambling communications signals all morning.

Winn: I'm sure there's a.......there's a good reason.

Cat: I know the reason. She's avoiding me. She's obviously afraid that I plan to retaliate because she drove my son away right when I was repairing my relationship with him

Grace snorts and rolls her eyes.

Cat: But I am a professional. I do not do upset. So you can tell Ker-rah that it is safe for her to resume her duties.
