SCORPIUS POV
I went to go get properly dressed since I was in sweats and a t-shirt. I walked up to my room and looked through my closet. I grabbed a pair of red skinny jeans and a black t-shirt. I put them on and go to my connecting bathroom to fix my hair and such. I walk out and slip on my black vans and black hoodie. I check if I have my wand and the Gringotts vault key and walk down stairs.
"I'm going to get my things for school!"
I heard a faint "okay" and I walked over to the fireplace and grab the pot filled with floo powder. Mum walked in and came over to me and handed me a piece of paper.
"Here are some things I need you to get me okay?" I nod. I kissed Mum's cheek and grabbed a pinch of floo powder and walked into the fireplace I threw the powder down and yelled "Diagon Alley!"
I felt the normal spinning sensation and popped out of the fire place in the Leaky Cauldron. I dusted off my clothes and walked out on to the busy street known as Diagon Alley. I went and got the things I needed, all the things on Mother's list, and kept walking to different stores and getting all the things I needed. The streets were buzzing with first years. I walked past Ollivander's. I thought back to the day I got my wand. 10" pine wood, and dragon heartstring. I decided to walk over to Florean's to get some ice cream before I went home. I walk up to the counter and place my order. "One chocolate ice cream, please?" The nice lady nodded and starting ringing me up.
"Would you like a cone or bowl?" the lady asked while getting the ice cream scoop.
"Cone." she nods and hands me the cone with ice cream.
I nod at her an hand her the money and walk out to go sit at a table outside when I collide with someone at the door.
"I'm so sorry!" I start apologizing when a familiar laugh comes to my ears.
"Your fine." I look down to see Rose staring at me. I just noticed how we landed with one on top of the other. I furiously blush and stand up. I stick my hand out for Rose to grab so I can help her up. She grabs my hand and I pull her up but not with out me blushing at our hands touching. I noticed a faint pink on her freckle filled cheeks.
"Thank you for helping me up." She smiled. I returned her smile looking down when I noticed her shirt ha ice cream on it.
"Dang, your shorts have ice cream all over them, I'm really sorry."
"It's okay Scorpius."
"I will go get you some napkins. I will be right back." I turned to the counter to ask the lady for napkins. She hands me a stack of them with a smile and a wink. I blush and rush back over to Rose. I help her clean her shirt but there is still a stain on it.
"Here borrow my hoodie it will cover up the stain." I slipped off my hoodie and handed it to her. She smiled appreciatively and slipped it on over her head.
"Thank you so much Scorpius." she smiled while her face turned a faint pink.
"You want ice cream?" she giggled and nodded.
We walk up to the counter together and wait in line.
Once we order we sit down and eat our ice cream while talking about quidditch. Everything was fine until all of the Potter-Weasley clan showed up with Roxanne in lead.
"What do you think your doing?" Fred approached our table.
"I was walking out of the ice cream place, I bumped into Rose and then I helped her clean up and gave my hoodie to cover up the stain, then after I helped clean up I offered to buy her ice cream." I explained quickly. Fred, Hugo and Albus's eyes all narrowed at me, examining me. They turned their backs toward me and started whispering. They all nodded.
"We will approve of this FOR NOW, but if you hurt Rose you are looking for a hell of a beating." Albus said. I nodded my face most likely visibly paling. I looked at my watch and it was already 5 O'Clock.
"I best be getting home now I've been here for over three hours." I waved goodbye and started walking towards the leaky cauldron.
"Scorpius! Wait you forgot your hoodie!" I could hear Rose yelling.
"That's okay! You can keep it for now!" I yelled back and kept walking to the leaky cauldron thinking about Rose and how much I love ice cream.
ROSE'S POV
Scorpius had just left walking he is letting me keep his jacket! His hoodie smells like pine needles and green apples. I have the biggest crush on him but I doubt he likes me. I turned on the boys.
"Why did you guys do that?" they all shrugged which just got me mad.
"I might have just made a friend and you guys came and drove him away!" They bowed their heads in shame.
"I have seen how people treat him in school because of his father!" I felt a tear role down my cheek.
"It's absolutely unfair that you treat him like this because of a mistake his father made! Just because his father was forced into making the wrong choice of being a Death Eater does not mean that he is a bad person!" I grabbed my bags and got ready to leave.
"Now, I will see you at home!" I got up trying to get through the thick crowd of people. I then noticed people with cameras cornering Scorpius most likely trying to get him to talk about his father again. I ran over and grabbed his hand and ran leading him to a alleyway where we shook off the reporters.
"Thanks, Rose." I nodded trying to catch my breath.
"Hey Rose?" I nodded and looked up at him.
"Did you mean what you said when you were yelling at your brother and cousins?"
"You heard that?" I asked softly. He nodded.
"Yes I did mean it." he smiled and ran over to me. he squeezed me into a hug. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Thank you, for not basing me off my father." He whispered.
"Your welcome." I grabbed his hand and looked up at him.
"Come on before our families start worrying." he nodded and walked out of the alley hand in hand. When we got into The Leaky Cauldron we walked over to the fireplace and he let go of my hand and hugged me.
"Thank you for sticking up for me."
"Your welcome."
"See you soon, Rose." I waved as he walked into the fireplace.
"Malfoy Manor" Then he was gone.
I grabbed the dust and decided to go see Grandma.
I dropped the dust and said "The burrow." I felt the spinning sensation and fell out at Grandma's house.
"Grandma?" I heard scurrying and then Grandma appeared smiling as usual. She opened her arms for a hug. I walked into her arms and let her give me one of her death hugs.
"How are you child?" she asked.
"I'm fine just that everyone is pushing buttons." I explained to her everything that happened in Diagon Alley not interrupting me throughout the whole fifteen minutes it took to explain. she nodded ever so often. When I finished I took a deep breath.
"He seems like a very sweet boy and a gentleman. I approve and you do have a point if he cared enough to buy the ice cream and help you clean up he should be worth approving and people should never base opinions of the person's relatives." I smiled my biggest smile yet.
"Thank you Grandma." she smiled and I hugged her.
"Do you mind if I stay here tonight I'm tired."
"Not at all dear." Grandma said I got up an walked to the stairs.
"Night Grandma!" I went to my usual room it used to be Uncle Fred and George's room. I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. I put on Scorpius's hoodie on climbed into bed and fell asleep to the smell of his hoodie like a lullaby.
