Chapter 16

Lily POV (Surprise again) 

**Two Weeks until First Task**

I've researched almost all of the Triwizard Tournament books I could find and even asked my mother, and I still can't seem to figure out the first task. I was in the midst of reading another book when Albus came in.

"Hey, have you found anything yet?" I was becoming desperate for help on finding out this task.

"No, but Headmistress has called for everyone to join in the Great Hall." I groaned as I got up. It's always something. I just hope that is important or dire. 

When we got to the great hall, I looked for Scorp at the Slytherin table. He wasn't there though. I looked at the Ravenclaw table, he wasn't there either. I did the same for the other tables, but I just couldn't find him. I started to go back to the Gryffindor table when I realized that Rose and Gabby weren't there either. Rose might be sick again. 

Ever since "The Reaping" as Gabby likes to say. Rose has been having panic attacks and getting sick easily. I know it seems like a lot, but she worries that something is going to happen during the tournament.

"All students are to be in the Great Hall now. Please have a seat at your respective tables." Headmistress sounded almost distraught. I, and many other students headed towards the tables in a rush. Because if Headmistress says "Respective Tables", something is going on. Once everyone had been seated, I finally saw Scorp at the head of the Slytherin table with Maddie whom both looked scared, no, almost frightened. 

"I have news of what the first task is." Whispers broke all throughout the hall. But with one look, everyone quieted down. "The only reason I am speaking of this, is because it involves the safety of many student whom aren't in the tournament." It was then that everyone realized how serious this tournament was going to be. "Champions are to defeat either an animagus, beast, or werewolf as their first task. And since I know that many of you come from strong magic backgrounds, those that I mentioned are to come and meet with me in my office tonight right after dinner, for you may be at risk. Every time the tournament has been held, the game gets dirtier each time. I just can't believe they would put others at risk..." She began to trail off, and I understood why Scorp and Maddie were afraid. Maddie is at risk of being 'defeated'. I really dislike this word. It makes it seem like they are to be slayed. But Gabby is at risk too, being an animagus coming from a muggle family. So she would be at the top of the list. Where is she? 

I'm beginning to think this tournament has a deeper meaning than earning fame and glory...
