Chapter ten

Will

The weekend fly's by quickly and before I know it, was back to class.

I sat in my lecture just tapping my pencil against my desk just waiting for it to come to an end already,

"Hey" Dustin says beside me as I look at him.

"Hm?" I respond, "are you doing anything tonight?" Dustin asks, and I could have just lied...but I honestly didn't have anything to do since max is still on her family bonding trip with Jane.

"No why?" I asked, "well me and Lucas are throwing a small bonfire at the beach wanna come?" I think for a while, well he didn't say it be at that house that I'm really sick of seeing.

"Sure why not" I agree as Dustin smiled.

gathering up my stuff as the course comes to its end.

I walked outside seeing a familiar face at the bottom of the stairs.

"Luke!? What are you doing here?" I asked in confusion as he didn't notify me that he would be coming.

"I came to see you" he says smiling, I stand in front of him leaning up on my tip toes placing a kiss to his cheek.

Maybe this is just what I needed, a distraction from Mike, and actually focus on what I have...but I've already done something and didn't tell him.

"Oh! And   I know you love to paint...so uh I got you these" he says handing me a bouquet of flowers.

I smiled taking them, as I felt guilt wash over me... because lately it feels like I've been feeling differently towards Luke.

I looked down at the flowers that have a mix of bright colors, my favorite color being yellow. Turning the flowers over  inspecting them deeper I noticed a price tag...

"W-what's the matter?" Luke asked looking down at me.

"N-Nothing just excited to see you" I say with a grin.

"Me too" Luke says placing his hand into Mine.

Later that evening, holding hands with Luke we made our way down to the beach, since that's where Dustin informed me to go.

"Hey! You made it" Dustin greets me, "and who is this?" He asked pointing to Luke.

"This is Luke... My boyfriend" I said to him and Dustin nods along.

"Well welcome to the bonfire" Dustin continues as we find a seat on a log.

The bonfire is way more content than the parties, which is why I'm kinda glad Luke showed up to this event and not one of the frat parties.

I looked around seeing familiar faces from those parties, including Mike who seemed to not be in the party mood like most times.

His expression seemed more empty, does he regret what happened between us, Angela who was sitting next to him try's and leans against his arm but he just shrugs her off while putting his hand against his forehead.

Causing her to roll her eyes as she stands up to move seats.

"Hey will? I'm actually really surprised to see you here" she says softly while going to go sit next to Lucas.

"Hey! I have a game idea? Why don't we play suck and blow" Dustin suggests.

(note: this is a card game where you hold a card onto your lips and pass it to another person☺️)

Everyone agrees to Dustin's game, I'm guessing he chose this game in particular because his crush who is in my art lecture was sitting next to him.

as expected everyone goes around passing the card until it gets to my turn, the card being held by a stranger which I was supposed to take from them and pass it onto Luke.

As I leaned forward to keep the game going the guy "accidentally" blows the card from his mouth.

"Oh-" Is all I can say as I push back against Luke's shoulder.

"Aw come on I-it's just a game" the guy says his words a little slurred.

"Umm" I say while trying to dodge his way of him trying to lean in closer.

"Hey! Watch it" Luke's voice breaks in as he pushes the other guy back.

"Oh? W-who's this your little boyfriend"

"Yes! Now leave him alone" Luke snapped

"h-hey relax bro...we can both share him right?" The guy says wrapping his arms around me.

Before I can even act, I saw the guy get pushed onto the floor, by no one other than Mike.

The guy stumbled onto his feet serving a punch, and him and Mike fall to the ground as people come around to break them up, as Mike is lifted up off the ground.

He looks at me...with tears at the corner of his eyes as he walks off.

Later that night laying in my bed with Luke right next to me as we watched some show he put on.

But about an hour later he was fast asleep leaving me alone to watch it by myself, I closed the computer quietly as I sat up in my bed looking over at a very much asleep Luke.

As my phone buzz beside me, I grabbed it looking at a call from Dustin, who sounded troubled and told me that I needed to come over and help him out.

quickly grabbing a pair of sweatpants and crocs I crept out of my dorm.

"Hey will over here!" Dustin called out from the porch of that frat house, that looked much better without all the red cups everywhere.

"W-what happened?" I asked Dustin as we walked into the house into the kitchen, as I see Lucas wiping the counter.

"I-it's Mike Man something is definitely wrong with him!" Lucas says while tossing the rag into the sink.

That's when I took a moment to look at the trashed kitchen that had a lot of stuff knocked over, "M-Mike did this?" I questioned to which Dustin and Lucas nodded.

"We've tried talking to him, but he just won't listen. So we figured he might talk to you" Dustin says as Lucas added in, "yeah since your name came up when he was lashing out" he says while grabbing the broom.

"W-well where is he?" I asked, "he's out back...in the backyard" Lucas added as he swept the floor.

Turing towards the sliding door, I opened it seeing Mike sitting on a lounge chair, drinking something instead.

I walked over carefully going over in my head as I approached him.

Also let me know if I'm adding too many characters and if their is some I can possibly edit out :)
