CHPT. 12- BONDING

THE DAY THAT SENDŌ LEFT, you both had to act normal since Ippo was around.

You were a bit sad that he was leaving. After all, he did make you feel great the night before.

Ippo and you accompanied him to the train station to say your final goodbyes, and when Sendō hugged you, he caressed your hip and whispered,

"You'll see me again, yeah?"

He pulled away and gave you a wink, making your knees weak.

They said their final goodbyes and said all that encouraging boxer stuff, and then, he left.

You guys waved goodbye as he got into the train and the doors closed, the train moving a few seconds after.

"Hey, now that we're out," You started, looking at Ippo.

"Do you wanna go somewhere?"

He got a bit hesitant about it, but he ended up agreeing to the idea.

You both went to an amusement park, getting on rollercoasters and all those fun attraction.

You both then took a small break to eat something. Ippo looked a little worried, like if something had suddenly flossed his mind.

You lightly tapped his palm and looked at him with a warm gaze, giving him a reassuring smile.

"You okay? You look really worried. Is something on your mind?"

He hummed softly and then looked a bit serious.

"I'm a bit nervous for the fight between me and Sendō. I have really high hopes for it, but.."

He paused, holding his breath.

"It's a fight for the champion belt. I'm sure he's gotten stronger.."

"And so have you." You said, placing your hand on top of his, caressing it gently.

"I'm sure you'll beat him, no matter what. It'll be hard, for sure. But, you're a great boxer, Ippo. I'm sure you'll win the belt!"

He gave you a smile and nodded. "Thank you, {Y/N}." He held your hand back, a warm feeling in your heart.

"The only thing that worries me is that Mr. Kampgawa said it he Dempsey Roll might not work on him. Sendō's a boxer that fights on instinct."

You didn't know boxing could be so stressing. Having to worry about what techniques that work on your opponent and what don't, the endless hours of training, and the super strict diets.

Once you joined the Kamogawa Gym in order to find the guys you were looking for, you saw what they did on their daily lives.

And aside from being in all those dangerous fights and ending with broken ribs or even worse, Ippo and the rest of the boxers still loved their career.

But Ippo's words did make you a bit worried.

You didn't want Ippo to lose, but..

You didn't want Sendō to lose either.
