the cold aura and dark hallways of the dungeons were almost dead silent, if it hadn't been for barty gentle whispers directing us on where to go. we stayed huddled close with in the dimly lit corridor, our breaths mingling in the cool night air. barty held the secret passageway book open, its pages whispering secrets of forgotten paths and hidden doors.

"we should move quickly," regulus murmured, his eyes flickering with a mix of excitement and caution. "the kitchens are just the beginning. the real adventure lies beyond."

my heart raced with anticipation. "imagine what we might find in the forbidden forest," i whispered, barely able to contain my excitement. "creatures of legend, ancient magic... it's all waiting for us."

evan nodded, his grip tightening on his wand. "let's not waste any more time. the passageway to the kitchens is through the old tapestry of the dancing trolls. once we're there, we can use the hidden door behind the pantry to slip out into the night."

barty, ever the strategist, glanced around to ensure we were not being watched. "stay close and keep your wits about you. we don't know who might be lurking in the shadows. lets not forget about gideon and fabian prewett, the prefects. they might be on rounds"

with hearts pounding and minds racing, we moved as one, our footsteps echoing softly against the cold stone floor. the tapestry of the dancing trolls swayed gently as we approached, and with a swift, practiced motion, dorcas pulled it aside to reveal the narrow, winding passage beyond.

evan stepped up into the passage first, helping everyone else up as it was a big leap up.

as we ventured deeper into the castle's hidden depths, the air grew thick with the scent of old parchment and forgotten memories. the walls seemed to close in around us, whispering tales of long-lost adventurers who had dared to tread the same path.

finally, we emerged into the warmth of the kitchens, the flickering firelight casting dancing shadows across the room. the hidden door behind the pantry awaited, a portal to the unknown.

"okay lets grab some food and get out of here." dorcas said, we all listened grabbing different snacks, i put together a bag of pumpkin pastries, butter beer fudge and cauldron cubes.

i wasn't sure what anyone else grabbed in the moment but i knew everyone was practically stocked up on more than enough food for tonight.

"everyone ready?" i asked, everyone sent a nod or a yeah in response so we gathered around the pantry exit,
regulus took a deep breath, his hand resting on the door's ancient handle. "this is it," he said, his voice steady. "beyond this door and far down the cobweb filled hall lies the forbidden forest and whatever mysteries it holds. are we ready?"

as we stood before the hidden door behind the pantry, ready to step into the night, the distant sound of laughter reached our ears. it was a familiar, mischievous laughter that made us all freeze in our tracks.

"do you hear that?" dorcas whispered, her eyes wide.

we crept closer to the source of the laughter, peeking around the corner to see none other than the maraunders— remus, james, sirius, and peter— jumping down from the passage we just came from, clearly up to no good.

"great," barty muttered under his breath. "just what we needed."

james was the first to notice us. "well, well, well, if it isn't the slytherin brigade," he said with a smirk, his glasses glinting in the dim light.
