   The duties of a princess were to be the symbol of beauty and delicacy of her kingdom, to be untouched, a doll. For when she is old enough to marry, being a symbol of the precious treasure of the kingdom, she could be married to some prince from another kingdom to form a strong alliance, or perhaps a prize for a nobleman from her kingdom for both to enjoy what they could offer or simply as a gift for what this nobleman has done for the kingdom. Like maybe a war hero.

   A princess could never inherit the throne since this is something for a prince to do. A man.

   It should be like this in all kingdoms, but in the Bandohr kingdom the most important thing was to show strength. Each kingdom had its specialty and the Bandohr kingdom specialized in magic.

   It all started a millennium ago, when this kingdom was dying of poverty and disease and suffering at the hands of tyrants who had murdered the ancient royal family, a heavenly dragon made a nest in the mountains near the capital of this kingdom and observed everything that was going on, had no ideas how to help humans because he always found them useless and selfish and detestable beings. However, his attention was captivated by a strong family that even though they were suffering from terrible housing conditions, health and hungry people without having almost anything to eat, always protected the villagers of the tyrants.

   So he decided to help by giving them very strong firepowers that were descending from son to son in order to protect their citizens in the worst conditions. This family defeated the tyrants and were crowned as the new king and queen of this kingdom and his name was changed to their name. Bandohr Kingdom.

   Over the years, new spells were learned by the villagers and the lands were expanded, no magic could be stronger than the fire of the dragon, which hibernated in the mountains where it made its nest.

   Many centuries have passed and it seems that the people have been forgetting how it all began, except for the long lineage of Bandohr's royalty who never let a single descendant forget how it all began.

   There has never been a woman in the history of the Bandohr family who was born with a great power of the dragon, because it was such a strong power some babies died even before they were born, usually only men were born with such power, women were born with a weak power compared to men. Until eleven years ago when the first princess of King Elijah Bandohr, was born with a great power of the dragon, so strong that when she was born, her eyes were the color of two ruby stones, more red than her hair. But they were as quick to return to an intense shade of green as those of the queen, which made the doctors think they had only imagined.

   Of course, this news spread and all the nobles thought it was all a lie, so they pushed the throne to the king's bastard son, who was only five years younger than the princess.
