7. The Battle Within - 2

A/n: First part was all about Sirius and struggles of him in the Black Manor. This part is focused on battle within Lupin and Snape. Originally I planned to show battle within Lucius's mind but that will have to wait .Also since the story is not canon I am changing a few things I have already changed a few things like Abraxas being still alive & Snape's mother being obscurial although these things should remain same since Petunia's fate shall not alter it. But my universe my choices (kidding everything's of J.K Rowlings). I hope you will like these. Stay tuned.

Chapter Starts

At Potter Manor

James Potter and his friends Remus and Peter had already figured out about the imperius curse and its effects. Although if they simply asked Mr. And Mrs. Potter their question may be solved quickly but the boys felt not to mention the incident in front of their parents. After finding the answer Peter and Remus left for their home. Later that week James received Sirius's letter.

Dear James,

I know that it will be odd that you receive my letter now. After the incident you must be confused. But I want to explain that it was because of my parents. They used the imperius curse on me which can force me to do anything unless I can resist it and guess what I finally did it today. I would like to send the letter to Remus and Peter too but it would be very difficult to write another two in this house so please inform them. I would understand if you lot will not want to be friends with me anymore.

Hope I am still your friend

'Exactly what we expected. What rubbish is he talking about why will we not be his friends. ' thought James. He was happy to receive letter from Sirius. It was yesterday when he wrote letters to Remus and Peter and not just yesterday but almost everyday.'Speaking of which always replies so fast. Within two hours of delivery . ' thought James. Then James immediately wrote letter to Remus and Peter about letter from Sirius. Next day he received reply from Peter who thinks that there is more to the topic. While Remus has not replied yet. 'But why ?' thought James. It is for the first time in the month when Remus has done so. James waited for reply but nope no reply not even in the night. Then the next day , James heard owl's hooting while he was in bed. He woke up excitedly but only to find that it was his Hogwarts letter. It was odd. They already received the letter . But this letter mentioned the dueling club. Hogwarts has decided to teach the students proper dueling just in case and the letter was to ask permission for the same. Well we all know what do they mean by just in case. Obviously, Voldemort is out there Ready to Kill. All must be prepared. Especially muggleborns who will be the main targets.

James thought that why Remus didn't reply, he never mentioned that he will be going for a vacation and especially in these dark times it is not even possible. The sun set marked a letter but from Peter. He was asking about Remus. He too didn't recieve any letter from him. Now the night has begun, James was walking in his yard. The full moon was beautiful. Wait 'the full moon' yes that was it. Why didn't I thought earlier. Remus always gets off during the week of full moon. But why, definitely cannot be his relatives again. I mean it is better to die than get seriously ill every month.
James then drifted into dreamless sleep.

At Lupin Manor

The full moon was yesterday. Remus is still struggling with his werewolf transformations . Two days after full moon are always the most difficult. Remus always feels most afraid at the time The most frightening part is that Remus do not remembers what he does in his werewolf form. Lyall and Hope Lupin are however happy to hear that Remus now has friends. They were even more happy to see that Rens recieved letters from them, which means that they are really his friends. They recieved James's letter on the full moon night that is why Remus was unable to reply. Next day Remus saw what he feared. A letter from James when he was in his sick state. What will James think why he did not replied. He cannot lie that he went to vacation James will identify it. But then what At first he must open the letter though. His mood was a bit lifeted when he had read the letter too think why will they not be his friends. It is not his mistake that he was imperised. That does not means that they will stop being his friends. 'Wait that could be me too. It is not my mistake that I am a werewolf, but sirius's father will not let him kill any one But he certainly can. No he cannot tell them the truth. He can't lose his friends. The friends for which he had waited for his whole life. The friends who he never hoped that he will have someday.

Remus wrote a letter back to both James and Peter saying that his owl was sick and when he received the the letter he was unable to reply immediately. And he sent the two letters with Nia his owl. Remus was guilt-ridden. Is it right to not tell his friends. Is it the right thing to do ? But what will he do if they abandon him. The best will be to not make them angry. He will tell them eventually but can't tell now. May be before third year he could tell them.
Two of the Marauders were now at a stage of internal struggle.

At Spinner's End

Severus Snape is now growing more and more depressed. He now knows that his mother is dying, his father is not doing anything to save her and instead abuses her and himself . Also his school teacher know about the condition. Petunia told him. He was upset with her. And Lily, he can't tell Lily and also she is growing apart from him as Slytherins do not like muggleborns. They can not meet much. And the one thing which he was for sure will never change that , he will always hate Sirius and his friends. But when he saw that Sirius is being abused in his family just like him how can he hate him . However his hatred towards James has increased since he heard that James like Lily. And Lupin too since he has got closed to her as a friend of course but it should have been him. And now he had started to hate Muggles and muggleborns it was because of them that his life has been miserable. His muggle father was responsible for it. Why can't he be normal. Only one he did not hate was Lily and may be Petunia. But he cannot even like Purebloods like James and Sirius neither Halfbloods like Remus and Peter. He longs for friends the real ones. He is jealous of the gryffindors they always have real friends take marauders first the instance. While friends in his house are just fake. Only want to show others that they are united but that is not the actual case. Several Slytherins have formed allies with Lucius who suddenly does not want to insult muggleborns. Some are with him just because of his status. Snape knows the reason behind the sudden change of mind. But he is not sure that how petunia convinced him though as she is still lying.

Now he went towards the dark side which meant dark arts . Snape was always interested in dark arts but since he discovered that his mother is Obscurial he is even going into deep into it to prevent her early death. He don't know how will he live without her or to say with his father. Snape has made friends with Crabbe and Goyle who are open enough to announce that they are Deatheaters. It is also one of the reasons that Lily is distancing herself from him but Snape has not realised the fact yet. It was during exams in Hogwarts when Lucius tried to be friends with him. However Snape was unable to understand why? The real reason was that being a perfect he was informed of the personal situation. Lucius saw a sight of himself in younger boy and he hopes that he may even change for good. Will Lucius be able to change him ?

" Tobias please he his pain .... Please don't ... Ahh ... No ... Beat me , spare him. What sort of father are you. !!" Pled Elliene Snape nee' Prince to hee husband who was beating snape with his belt just because Snape tried to stop him from beating his mother. And also that he was drunk. He was rejected again for the interview. " NOO! MOM , He is angry ,, you are weak... This git will bleed you to death .... Please Dad don't beat her...." Slap from his father shut him up while snape was crying his heart out. This angered Snape and he was about to take out his wand when he heard. BOOM!!! The obscurial lost control....
