9. Changing Circumstances

On September 1st , instead of the usual panicking and excitement, the house was filled with Silence. Pr. Mcgonagall was arriving today to pick up both the girls for Hogsmeade by floo travel as after the incident, the Evans have connected their fireplace in the floo network. This year the Evans sisters will not be boarding the Hogwarts express to attend the funeral of their beloved friend Severus's father.

However , at Kings Cross station the four best friends were  both anxious and excited to meet their friends. Sirius was carrying his trunk following his mother and brother , Regulus as he will be attending his first year at Hogwarts. Although the blacks have always associated with Dark arts they never sent their children to Durmstrang. The reason was the family history with Hogwarts. Phineas Black was even the former  headmaster of it. Regulus was anxious and worried. Although he wanted to join Sirius in Gryffindor, his fear of family has made his mind to join Slytherin. But , if the hat denies ? What will he do then ?

James Potter along with Peter and Remus was waiting near the barrier for Sirius. Soon Mrs. Black crossed the barrier with his son Regulus. As she entered the platform she spatted in disgust by seeing the three friends who were just a waste for magical world. She glared at them which the trio of friends ignored and waved merily at Sirius.

Sirius was overwhelmed to see his friend although he knew that they will not abandon him , there was a little doubt which was cleared today. Walburga was busy seeing of his younger son so she missed the exchange. All four of them immediately ran to find their compartment, where they have engraved their names.

James spoke first, " Sirius are you alright? " . " Yes, obviously it's just my dear mother. " he replied. But he looked very pale. The other three now knew that he was hiding something, but what and the bigger question why ? .

" Sirius, We not only call you brother but also consider you as brother, so please tell your brother what is the matter?" Said James.

Hearing this Sirius brokedown , eyes getting misty , he was deeply touched. However, he was not the only one who was deeply touched.  A hope also arose in Remus's heart that maybe these people will not leave me, even if I am a werewolf. But is there any guarantee of this?

After some time, Sirius told his friends everything about how his mother tortured him. How his family was against him, and that he no longer considered them his family. After hearing the truth, James realized that only the lucky ones get a good family. Not everyone supports you. He is so lucky that his parents respect his decision. James also started to understand why Sirius hates Slytherins so much? But what is his reason? His journey was passing amidst all these thoughts.

After taking all the sweets from the food trolley, Sirius asked James, "Aren't you going to meet Evans today?" After which everyone went out to look for Lily. But the surprising thing was that Lily was nowhere to be seen? And neither was Severus? Where did both of them go after all. Because of Remus, they came to know that both of them were neighbors? It's a strange thing.

In Hogsmeade village, the two sisters consoled Severus. Though one should not think like this, but still Petunia felt a relief that now Sev's father will never be able to abuse Sev. After the funeral, the three students reached Hogwarts with their teachers. There was still time for the rest of the people to arrive, so the three were sitting quietly in the Great Hall. The other two tried a lot to talk to Sev but to no avail. Snape's mental condition was very bad at this time, he lost everything in a single day. Petunia was thinking that Snape might have taken some wrong step by staying in such bad company.  In such a situation, you can easily include him in your group along with Voldemort.
